I see a lot on the forum about FDC's Shared un-metered dedicated servers but does anybody have any experience with there other plan: Guaranteed un-metered dedicated servers

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

buddy of mine i ran his server had one of thier unmetered boxes @ like 100 bucks and it was very slow since they saturated thier pipes i have no clue though since he left there how they are now.

you may wanna pay 50 bucks more and get a good server because you could'nt really push out that much traffic anyhow with the pipes so saturated like they were

I've got a box colocated with FDC on their 5mb guaranteed plan. The box was originally on their "standard" plan, and I had some of the same problems as other people had with regard to packet loss, transfer speeds, etc. Since I've moved up to the 5mb guaranteed plan, though, performance has been much better. There's little packet loss, pings are more steady, and transfer rates are much higher. It's still not perfect -- there have been a few 10-15 minute downtimes and there are occasional ping spikes. But for the price they're charging I think the service has been pretty good.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking it would be much better. Could you give me an example of transfer speed etc..

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm able to use my 5mb/sec without trouble. Have a look at http://www.amaroq.org/mrtg/66.28.242.252_2.html.
