okihost 09-15-2002, 11:42 AM Wrong forum try the one all the way at the bottom of the list.. Also ebay is a good place to find HDD.. Seeing its a file server you might want to specify what kinds ie: IDE or SCSI
Darth 09-15-2002, 11:44 AM He said ide :stickout
mcfcforever 09-15-2002, 11:50 AM yeah i did say IDE :stickout , also, i have tryed Ebay. still no joy.
refcom 09-15-2002, 02:05 PM Try your local computer clubs. Find out where your local "Linux or Unix User Groups" are located and when they are held - drop by there, hackers always have extra hardware. You can probably pick up a decent 10 gig disk - the price will depend on the market.
The market depends on the supply - I've had a pile of 20 486's left on my doorstep for free, and other times I've had to pay good cash for a 5.25" floppy. It depends on the market.
interactive 09-15-2002, 02:09 PM why not just mail order a refurb'ed not too expensive like ($35)....i'd go with maxtor or a ibm deskstar....
progex 09-15-2002, 03:00 PM You haven't found any luck on eBay?
Did you try these:
• http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2053633584

Good luck. :)
mcfcforever 09-15-2002, 03:08 PM Progex, cheers, i didnt see any of those. I did see a 4.5gb hdd, and bidded £10.50 for it. After i the auction ahd ended, i found it it was a SCSI drive, cos it said 68 pin :(. Luckily, it hadnt met teh reserve
progex 09-15-2002, 03:44 PM Why didn't I think of this before... You could try the computer enthusiast boards.
You can post an offer for a HD or search for others with HD's. You'll find HD's galore here. :)

Acroplex 09-16-2002, 12:04 AM Try your local charity, it seems you want something for nothing.
mcfcforever 09-16-2002, 02:24 PM no timechange, i dont want something for nothing. I am a bit short on cash at the moment, waiting for my refund from earhost, if i'll ever get it.
RobTheGolfer 09-16-2002, 05:15 PM I got a 6 gig here collecting dust. It is a Western Digital 6 gig. Not sure how fast it is. I will format and ship to you. Make me an offer.
