The same as what will happen to every other company, every account on their servers will go down. Which is very bad news for the reseller account and all his customers.

Its the same as anything else. Be it shared, reseller, VPS, dedi or anything else! When they are gone, you are dead.

As long as you back your files up on a regular basisi and keep a copy of all the files on a local computer then you will be ok even if the company does just dissapear. Thats the only thing that you can do.

Remote backup should be part of your disaster recovery plan. Unfortunately, when companies go belly up and disappear, your options are null. Plan ahead.

Hello bloggero (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=215509),
Like many say if you don't have backups then no files. But we are not going anywhere. Our servers get Remote backups everynight. so you're data is fast with us! :)
Let me know if you have anymore questions. I am more then happy to help.

If anyone have many customers when he must choose a most known and reliable and old hosting provider according to me. For example we have reseller accounts on a copmany that have their own data center.
Also if anyone have many customers when getting backups all of the data to his computer is imposible in practice. Because reseller hosting owners can download backup of resold accounts separately only. Also size of the files will be too big in total.

What's happens if a reseller hosting company goes away ?
1) You're screwed unless you prepared.
2) The servers will probably be offline, so you won't have access to your hosting accounts.
3) Your clients will not be happy as their websites/e-mail will be down.
4) At first you won't panick because your web hosts claims to offer backups but buried deep inside their TOS it says backups are the customers responsibility. Then you'll ask yourself when was the last time you backed up your clients sites/databases/emails? Then the panick sets in.
5) You post a new thread on WHT that your resellers account is offline, your clients are not happy, you're losing $$$. Then a few posters ask if you have backups? Then you post "My webhost offers backups, yadda yadda yadda". Then posters chastize you for not keeping YOUR OWN backups or paying for a $5/mo backup host which can automate the process.
In my 6 years here that's how it usually goes.
Of course most of that could be avoided if you do your research and choose a reputable reseller. Even if you don't, just make sure you invest in a $5/mo backup host and you can switch whenever you want.

Have good backups or else there isn't much you can do.

Maintain off-site backups to prevent data loss in such a scenario. The advice however would be to find a reliable, reputable host even if you pay a little more as it will save you a headache in the long run.

You may want to take a backup every other day if you think the company is going to go under. With the economy the way it is it's never hard to predict who will be next.
All the best,

To avoid this, don't go with a company who is obviously finically struggling in the first place :). If you're with a provider that is currently about to go belly up, get the heck out of there. If you get the feeling they are about to go belly up, this is when you commence offsite backups if you haven't already started.

Always maintain backups.
As others have said, you're essentially out-of-luck in such situations. :(

you're essentially out-of-luck in such situations. You're out of luck if you have to make use of your backups. You're out of options if you don't have any backups to make use of. :P
Off topic: Congrats on breaking the 1000 posts barrier. :)

you will most likely get screwed. It's never recommended to just rely on your host to constantly create backups. It's always recommended to keep up to date backups yourself incase the host does go away.

But, most of the hosting company does not support off site backup.

Not most, but those new startups who know nothing, also known as 'kiddie host'.

resellerways.com seems to be gone, but my website adsneeze.com is still up and running for now, resellerways.com is down for almost 2 days.
I'm glad I have a backup because, the DirectAdmin license from resellerways is expired.
In the future I think I'll take hosting from small companies again but long live the BACKUP.

Daily Backup is the best way.
Remember, never transfer Your domain to an ambiguous company.
