I'm looking for a logo for a future company called "grayToast" (case sensitive please). It will offer hosting and design services.

I want it to be creative..but look good. :)

Other than that, no real requirements.

To create Aqua like things you need to do some series of gradients, then add some (also gradient) light places to make the plastic/volume effect... well, there are some tutorials on the net to make such things if you dont know how to ....
Also, if you have Photoshop it will help :rolleyes:

Indeed, it is a waste of time unless you are building up your portfolio.

If someone is really interested to order a logo, a portfolio is enough for him/her to decide whether to buy or not. After all, almost all of us designers here have a full-refund policy if our client is not satisfied. At least, we have a standard policy on that one.

Why?

Because, a well made logo should suggest or, at least give you an idea of what the company does, without the assistance of any text not present in the actual logo. A truly effective logo says it all. Go to LandsEnd and look at some of the custom logo designs their client's have submitted. One glance and you know exactly what each company does.

True, not all logos are like that. And Hey, we're talking $50 here. But, cascompany seems to come closest to catching the idea in his portfolio.

Don't get me wrong guys, lots of nice work submitted here. Very impressed by all.

This is Exactly the way it works ... a designer presents you ... dunno... 5 / 10 logos ... (or maybe 20, depending on how much you paid ;) ... then, you need to GUIDE the designer at least a little ... remember, If you dont know what you want ... how can a designer know it or guess it ? ... Are you waiting for a miracle or something ?

what you need is to select a sample you liked (or tree) ... and then develop the final logo (colors and/or very similar samples with small changes) with the designer.

If you have too much pretentions for a logo ... you should contract a designer in your city, go with them, with a coffee, your checks, and talk of your not defined logo idea :stickout

Take a pill. Nobody is flaming you. It should be clear there are a lot of guys here who have made some effort to come up with a design you like. Not to say there is one you actually do like. Not to say there is even one you "should" like.

But, given it's $50 bucks you are offering, I'm sure anything you can do to provide some guidance for these guys would get you closer to your goal. i.e spend a little money / get a decent design.

Here are my attempts 3-5. Anything you like about any of them can be mixed with anything you like about any of the others. In other words, if you like one of these but want the logo on the left side, done. If you like the little thing in number 5, but want the background to be like number 3, done. Etc. As well, I ask again that you keep in mind all colors and anything else can be changed too. Please let me know. Thank you.

Very simple, and after printing it out, and moving it around, I'd like the concept changed a little bit..

First of all, I want BRIGHT colors, but professional...like the cobalt lime green and blue...not exactly that, maybe, but a good combination like that ( :D )

Second, if you take the first plane around the sphere, and just drop the other two, it looks like some sort of wall sort of that is built around the sphere. I would really like it if another plane could be put on top so its chaped like a square..but the plane on top, I want distorted...like not lining up to the other one...so in a sense it would create an optical allusion....keep looking at the first plane around the sphere...move it around a bit, and maybe you will see what I'm getting at..

If not, please let me know :)

Basically I want it to draw attention as you look at it..staring at it one moment may make u see it popping "out", and the next "in", I'm sure you all have seen stuff that is like this before..

Also, in the sphere I would like some slashes, or other designs...all in bright colors! different is ok, but keep the combination good looking

Yeah that must suck, i have had a logo created for a private venture i am running, im using the logo right now, but still have not paid, i dont use paypal but will have the cash soon for him (from a customer paying via paypal) so i will be paying him.

It seems that there is a suspicion on the designers here about the results of this contest and I believe the only way to make this go away is for Phatronic (wherever you are) to drop by and verify that indeed you are the winner and that CobaltConn is working with you for a complete site design and that you have been paid.

If this does not happen, I am afraid that it turned out to be not as anyone had liked it to be. So CobaltConn if you would be so kind enough to call on your guy Phatronic to verify this on this board to save your face, that will be much appreciated.

And if nothing happens after this request, I cannot blame the people who participated on what they think. ok?
