How much would you pay for a premium custom Drupal, Wordpress, or Joomla theme?

How much would you pay for a premium custom Drupal, Wordpress, or Joomla theme? Multiple revisions and valid XHTML or HTML and CSS.

If it's custom made and not mass-marketed, with it not looking like a template, I think it's easily worth $200-300 if well-made -- perhaps worth considerably more.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it would be a unique template/theme that the client would own the rights too. They could in turn sell the theme to others.

It depends on the quality of the design and coding. Since the client would have the rights to it, you might want to put the price higher.

Difficult to answer, if not impossible, as Warren Buffett said
"Price is what you pay. Value is what you get"

I see you point. It would be hard to answer this one without a portfolio.

$1000 is not unreasonable given this theme could be resold. The perception of value resides with your prospect. $200 could be too much if the perception of value isn't there.

I was thinking that too. I guess at the beginning of the thread I should have said "If the designer's portfolio was suitable to your taste" or something like that.

couldnt agree more with Mezan, it depends on the design, coding, resell rights and on top of that client's perception, taste, etc.

I get regular clients that will pay ~$5000 (use to be more, but things have gone down) for a non-dynamic, well designed HTML/CSS site and
