Hello, Can someone tell me a little more about Virtual Private Servers.


How much better performance/speed would one see compared to your average shared service plan. What are the different types of software.

Performance will depend on the server hardware specs, number of VPS accounts on the server, among other things. Each VPS account will run its own OS, web server, FTP, etc. Depending on the provider you might get a minimum resource guarantee for RAM, CPU usage, disk space, etc. The only VPS software I know are Ensim and FreeVSD.
