View Full Version : What display do you use?
clocker1996 09-14-2002, 12:24 PM I run 1152x864 and have been for a year or two now.
It's great. I would go 1280x768 but my monitor doesn't support that. LOL i'll get a new monitor in a few months.
I just turned my display to 800x600 to see what it was like...horrible
How could anyone use a display like that? I couldn't stand it. Everything was so... BIG..
It sucks.
clocker1996 09-14-2002, 12:25 PM Oops, i forgot to add 1280x768 on the poll :(
a mod probably won't be around to edit the poll until probably later tonight....or maybe even tomorrow
so if you run 1152 or higher, just vote 1152x864
akashik 09-14-2002, 12:33 PM didn't we just do this poll a few weeks ago?
Regardless, 1024x768 here at 17 inches.

Anywho, 1024x768 because my 13" generic CRT can't go any higher... then again, my graphics "card" can't handle anything past 1024x768 either...
prosayist 09-14-2002, 01:48 PM I used 1024x768 for the longest time when I first got my computer (the 'display settings' was the first thing I changed), then I was looking for more so I went with 1280 for a while but didn't like the proportion.. now I use 1152@17"

Today I have my new pc with dual 19 in monitors set at 1152 X 864 -- YEAH!!!! :D I'm so happy to be me again :D my daughter is happy to have her system back as well of course...
Andrew 09-14-2002, 02:43 PM I'm using 1280X1024...never really thought about dual monitors, but I've got 2 of them sitting right here...may as well give that a shot. :D

dynamitehost 09-14-2002, 03:30 PM Hmmm....
I was using 1024x768 untill about 2 minutes ago when I saw this post and decided to switch to 1152x864 to see what it was like and it rules!
1024x768 (my laptop doesn't go any higher) :(
I wish everyone used this or higher. I hate designing for 800 x 600
netacore 09-14-2002, 06:36 PM 1600 x 1200
shaunewing 09-15-2002, 02:33 AM 1024x768 on a 14" laptop display (which is basically the only choice. Any lower is all pixelated and it doesn't support anything higher).

mind21_98 09-15-2002, 02:38 AM In FreeBSD, I can run 1024x768 or even 1152x864 without eye problems, but in Windows I usually run 800x600. Anything bigger than 800x600 is too small for me. :(
floppy 09-15-2002, 02:52 AM I use 800x600 monitor
