Is it possible to track no.of downloads ?

Is it possible to track no.of downloads on the ftp?
I have given around 15-20 members of my site to upload their content via ftp as I have huge amount of bandwidth I would like to know is there a way possible to know how many times the files have been downloaded by the users ?

in the script that downloads the file insert into the database or write to a file the name of the downloaded file or have a database table of the available files and the amount of downloads and at each time increment the amount of downloads...

Check:
/var/log/ftp.log
If it records requests you can use it, otherwise, you will have to update the FTP protocol itself to log requests with filesize.
You can also use web scripts instead.
