I'm at work right now. We have 3 computers which all seem to be infected with the Klez virus. We downloaded the Klez removal tools from the Norton website and scaned all computers. It says it cleaned it all up but we continue to send infected e-mails to other computers. I have the same problem at my house. Actually when I scan it tells me my computer is virus free.

Does anybody know how to get rid of this virus for good?

It's a wet answer but I'd say just wait for Norton to send an updated virus list. They're usually pretty quick to get updates out, and Klez has a lot of variants with new ones all the time.

I had this problem also. It took several tries to get all the files off. Check the Norton site for the process to remove the klez virus. But who ever sent the virus to us was still infected and sending out infected email with our address listed as the sender. So for several days I received bounced/returned mail from a variety of vendors and clients who thought it was our email.

Good Luck

Fdisc beats Norton too :D
Buddy of mine (not the one I am getting an infected PC from) was describing how his PC was behaving, and I told him it sounded like an infection. He said it couldn't be because he has Norton. I had to tell him even if he updated it every 24 hours, Norton still doesn't catch better than 90% of viiri.
The only thing worse than people that don't use an AV, are the ones who think they are invulnerable to virri because they have an AV.
Get a text only email reader, and preview it right on the server. Not only will it render viiri inactive, but it will not load images from spam sent in html letting them know your addy is active. and unlike your email client that DL's all the email to your PC, when you delete it, it really is gone. (not saved and hidden somewhere on your PC)

I hate Norton system. I installed AVG antivirus. Norton was unable to detect Nimda virus.

Norton = bloated, ineffective, overrated resource hog.

So which one is the best?
Had no problem with NAV so far.

Mc Cafee is better than NAV.

I started with McAfee, but could not get definition updates, so I switched to Norton and have had no problems with updates and no virus has made it on my computer yet. It caught the klez in an email today. One thing about virus programs, you have to keep the definitions up to date to catch the newest version of viruses out there.

I use McAfee on every computer I install, I set it to do hourly DAT updates, ive never had a virus yet, EVER and I dont intend on ever having one :D

Im so careful with viruses is amazing, at work we usually get about 15-20 virus infection attempts per day, all are blocked, the servers and e-mail servers check every 10 minutes for dat updates :D
