hi there,
anyone has experience with this company. we would advise you dont because they are holding 3 of our domain names hostage and wont cancel it even.
on their site it says £2.89/yr for a .co.uk domain if paid biyearly. However after you pay and register the domain (registered under a german company, so u get no authentication right though its you who pay for it) you would find no way to change your nameserver setting to point to your server.
You call them up wait 10 minutes on the phone queue and a very arrogant person would reply to you that they only allow the domain to be used if you do hosting with them also. We tell them that no its not a good policy, they tell thats their company policy (guess they forgot to mention it on their front page before registering the domain name)
anyways, now we want to cancel it,
- sorry we cant accept emails for cancelling, it requires a signature so you have to fax it -
ok we fax a request for cancellation,
- get an email from them with account login information and congratulating for registering the domain with thiem -
email them a good few times about the cancellation fax whether they've received it or not.
- no reply -
Weekend time so their office is closed, cant get anyone on phone either and with their level of support i doubt they would bother much about receiving the fax or not. after all they want to keep hold of the domain so that you host with them.
so does the above sound like a fairy tale to anyone? no its good old oneandone.co.uk
i doubt they come on this forum anyway, but at least we hope that other people can be careful and if anyone knows any way of getting the domains back from them let us know too since we have 3 very angry clients who dont have their domain names yet and we are left with nothing not the money nor the domain (more importantly).
