I know there are several choices for domains.

.com, .net, .org, .cc, etc.

If I register a domain name with a .cc suffix, is my
ownership just as "solid" as it would be with a .com suffix?

Is there anything to watch out for when registering a country code name?

{edit: Sorry I screwed up the subject line.}

Yeah, it should be, just as "solid".

The country codes function pretty much the same as the standard .com/.net/.org names, but are generally significantly more expensive. With a few exceptions I don't think they have any more "memorable" value than a .net or .org (assuming you can't get the .com you want), and if the .net or .org is available with the name you want I would opt for that instead.

If you're searching for a domain name, a good place to hunt is http://www.nameboy.com.

There's enough time has passed since .cc has become an official TLD, so you don't need to worry about. Just choose a good registar.
