Billing Panel (modernbill or WHMCS)

I've been a long time user of ModernBill 4 and Cpanel. However, I just noticed their product changed to Plesk Billing. So, I'm looking to maybe switch my billing system to something else.
I've heard about WHMCS but have never tried it. Perhaps there are others out there as well. Can you guys give me some feedback as to which ones you recommend?
Btw, I'd like to be able to have a simplified Chinese language version as well. Thanks!

I'd recommend WHMCS as it is very solid and less complicated when compared to ModernBill. Also, the support provided by WHMCS is pretty good. So WHMCS all the way!!

We use WHMCS and have been very happy with it. It works well and is pretty cheap to.

Hi,
We also use WHMCS and most of our resellers use it. If you would like to test it before you buy thats okay too they have a demo you can download and install on you're server for 14 days. Or 15 not sure. But anyways this is a good way for you to test all the things WHMCS has to offer. and if you like I would go with licensepal.com to get you're WHMCS
Best of luck,
Mike.

Stay as far as possible from Modernbill. Company behind it is a joke, support is absolutely ridiculous and the development of the script is well there is none.

I would highly recommend WHMCS. It's a great product and I haven't been able to find any issues with it.

I don't think this can be posted enough times.

A large chunk of people who used to use ModernBill have switched to WHMCS or another billing app. I'm really happy I made this change when I did rather than struggling with MB5.

I moved from Modernbill 4 to WHMCS about 4 months ago, and I am only peeved I didn't do it sooner. WHMCS actually does the billing correctly -- I am not undoing all kinds of mystery transactions and mistakes.
WHMCS runs all by itself so I don't have to hand-hold it and do everything manually (Modernbill made way too many mistakes/weird transactions to trust automating it);
WHMCS has a very nice, easy-to-use GUI ..... both for company staff as well as customers. I have received several compliments from customers about the customer-side interface. (Which to me, are the comments that mean extra-much.)
WHMCS has a built-in support desk that, while basic, still does everything we need it to do. We just aren't as complex in our needs that we require Kayako or Cerberus ... and I've used both of those systems too ... the built-in support desk works GREAT. In fact, frankly, it works better for us than Cerberus did.
WHMCS is priced right;
WHMCS seems to have an active developer behind it who's in for the long haul;
WHMCS has excellent documentation and an active community, through the both of which I've had every single question answered in the course of setting up

I really, really wish WHMCS would refer to customers by company name first, instead of equating accounts with individuals. That is a consistent problem with the lower-end billing systems that really speaks to the mindset of the folks that develop them (not just WHMCS). I guess it's driven by the needs of their target market, I don't know...
