I have been scouring through WHT the past few days looking for posts about LXADMIN. I have been doing web hosting for the past 6 years and have used several different types of control panels, LXADMIN to me has the most potential. I have been looking around there forums as well recently and have noticed a few issues that i feel are stalling progress...
1. Interface Changes...
Many users have mentioned their discontent with the look of lxadmin, personally its functional but it could be better users such as markb1439 and RN-David on WHT have mentioned that they would possibly make mockups, would these designs be considered by the LxAdmin team?
- People should be able to edit their quick link icons (which ones to enable disable) and maybe make them bigger.
- Easy way to access PHPMYADMIN, it took me about 5 minutes to find it.. if you look at cpanel it takes about 1-2 clicks depending on the theme
2. cPanel to LxAdmin conversion script
- I have been looking to move to LxAdmin for atleast one out of my 4 hosting vps machines and I would be more than exuberant if I could just import a cpanel full backup.
These are just two of the things I wish to see happen with this product that has amazing potential, I am going to start posting on the LxAdmin forums to try and see if they are interested in hearing some of my ideas.

Yea I am using it now, I am not sure for some reason I feel I could do a lot more than that (if the php was unencrypted)

What do you guys think of lighttpd with lxadmin? Have you found any issues where clients were unhappy without apache?

If you do some digging on the forum there is already a solution for cPanel > LxAdmin migration. It was mentioned a few months back.
It's indeed an excellent panel, the original interface doesn't bother me at all. It's clear and easy to navigate. I'd much prefer this over flashy Web 2.0 layout and not be able to find everything.
The new feather theme leaves alot to be desired IMO.

LXADMIN... Petition Time? - I would pay more
I have been scouring through WHT the past few days looking for posts about LXADMIN. I have been doing web hosting for the past 6 years and have used several different types of control panels, LXADMIN to me has the most potential. I have been looking around there forums as well recently and have noticed a few issues that i feel are stalling progress...
1. Interface Changes...
Many users have mentioned their discontent with the look of lxadmin, personally its functional but it could be better users such as markb1439 and RN-David on WHT have mentioned that they would possibly make mockups, would these designs be considered by the LxAdmin team?
- People should be able to edit their quick link icons (which ones to enable disable) and maybe make them bigger.
- Easy way to access PHPMYADMIN, it took me about 5 minutes to find it.. if you look at cpanel it takes about 1-2 clicks depending on the theme
2. cPanel to LxAdmin conversion script
- I have been looking to move to LxAdmin for atleast one out of my 4 hosting vps machines and I would be more than exuberant if I could just import a cpanel full backup.
These are just two of the things I wish to see happen with this product that has amazing potential, I am going to start posting on the LxAdmin forums to try and see if they are interested in hearing some of my ideas.

Lxadmin does have a lot of potential, but I believe it would need to be more of a "paid" control panel to grow.

Matt, I suppose you are right about the lxadmin being paid... it doesn't need to be more of a paid panel...
What do you guys think of lighttpd with lxadmin? Have you found any issues where clients were unhappy without apache?

I think that lxadmin is a great free panel and there are hosts that will install it for you these days. Better than webmin and vhcs.

Hivelocity - out of the ones that are free - lowcost (its free with hypervm i believe) LxAdmin blows the others out of the water, that being said there is still room for improvement.

Lxadmin does offer apache or lighttpd. You can change it by going to "services".
