Now normaly this wouldnt be a isue but this was down right malicios and I caught 15 emails with in a few min. I have copied all my log files traced it back to his IP and Aol id, and saved all the emails.

AOL :)

Tell them you want him deleted of their services. Unfortunatly if he didnt do anything damaging (well that is fortunate), he cant be put in jail or whatever :(

We have the same issue with somebody sending virus emails friendship.scr - from & reply-to fields set to our sales address. His ISP was contacted with proper email headers but still no reply

that's all you can do. Track down the ISP and give them proper warnings. Personally, I continue to give those ISP's emails until either I find a higher authority than them (so they have to respond) or they finally respond. Persistance, persistance, persistance.

This is the bottom line... ISP's get these emails EVERY DAY and you have to make sure that YOUR report is unique and you want it taken care of ASAP. They do not have to take care of it ASAP, but remember.. the squeeky wheel always gets the oil.

Well as only reporting to the ISP I think is a bunch of hog wash. Now I am in Florida, and so is this guy. According to Fla. state Statues this is a criminal offence.
And as far as contacting the ISP, well have you ever found a # or a email address for AOL....lol I think that route is going to be pointless. Serouisly would you let some one vandilize your home just so you could tresspass them from your neighborhood??
Every State has laws against cyber crimes, they vary from state to state but pretty much say the same thing...... this is illegal!

On the other hand, you'd have a hard time getting any prosecutor interested in pursuing something like this where only one person was targeted and no damage was done, so I wouldn't have much expectation of having anything done by any legal authority. Could probably try a civil suit, though, for the time spent dealing with it and for any damages specified in your TOS.

Sure it's not YAHA.E? That sends a file sometimes named goldfish.???.bat/scr where ??? is mp3,scr or a long list of others. freindship.scr mentioned in one of the other messages may also be YAHA.E YAHA.E has the ability to get past some antivirus software too. It's sends out tons of email to email addresses found in the IE cached pages. Tell the user, they probably don't know!

The person to go after would be the writer of this p.o.s.
