I want to publically thank Randy Williams, the Cheif Tech Officer at Rackshack.net.
A few days ago I had a customer that uses DirectWay 2 way Satellite system and he could not FTP or get POP3 email.
I submitted a ticket, it sat for a few days, I wrote this thread at RS forums
http://forum.rackshack.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10363&perpage=25&pagenumber=1
With my customer's traces and low and behold another RS customer was having the same problems.
After being told, hey its the ISP not RS!! Randy did not give up on us, he work with Ahdonline and I right to the end.
BRAVO Mr. Williams! Most others would have given up on us.
Well the whole problem is DirectWay (DirecPC) has their users through proxies and finding the customer's NAT IP was a pain!
As you can see we found the NAT IP's and yes there were blocked by RS.
The problem with DirectWay is their IP's are used by several hundred users at a time, when RS got attacked they tried to contact DirectWay with NO luck (I believe this beause my luck was just as bad)
Randy unblocked the IP's in question and guess what, we were back in business!
Alot of people were floored at the horrible latency, but that is because of the fact the data travels to a Satellite and back.
Thank you Randy!!!!
