Curious to see what you all think your most valuable domain is and why. Is it because of existing traffic, a great web site, or is it simply a good name?

Hosting related or not related...

Difficult to decide, but currently I like mysqlphp.com most - simply a good name with great potential...

Poe.com was my best, until I sold it. :)
I still have more good domains, waiting for them to sell. :)

I've got the following domains that provides traffic to the site:

www.wardriving.INFO - it is a wireless web portal project, traffic between 1500 - 2200 views per day. Very active to wireless security and wardriver afficionados. Last month per views is 37K+.

www.needguide.com - network and security portal, it has average traffic 500 views per day. Though it jumps to 1000 to 3000 views per day. This is going 4 years that provides documentation, articles, forums and other free services. It already established its existence to major search engines.

www.blackhat.INFO - security web portal, one is because you don't want your website be listed here. It is a project site.

www.needname.com - I'm not monitoring the traffic, wild guess is between 1000 to 2000 views per day. I also advertise this website to promote domain name registration.

The advantages, easy to remember domain names, content of the site (I guess the best possibility) and advertisement will help a lot to get traffic.

You tell me. I don't know if any of these are valuable at all, however I think they are the better of the bunch, which isn't saying much...

bahhh.. they aren't exactly what I'd consider valuable. I still think that the best thing to do is to actually build a site as this is what becomes worth something. Name alone is questionable.

I personally own many domain names to market specific websites for business or project use. This is the best advertisement and cheapest of them all.

So it is up to you, whether it is beneficial to have more domains. Is your business needs it, well I know everyone need it. So start buying domain names related to your business to drive more traffic.

Anyhow, the most valuable domain I had sold in the thousands of dollars. Based on the economy of two years ago, some of my domains would easily sell above 2 grand, but nowadays the market is deflated. I hold onto several domains that hopefully will worth quite a bit when the markets bounce back. The ones that sell fast are 3-char .COM domains - from $30 to $150+ each.

I used to own both iAuctions.com/net - sold were eventually sold. Buyer hasn't done much with them after buying them for $$$.

I once owned a two letter/number .ca domain. I let it expire and to this date it's still available. :)

True, there are still A LOT of 2 letter/number dot-ca domains available. 3a.ca was let expired in exactly the same manner.

So long as it answers the question, it is permitted. I only posted 6 domains as I felt they were equally most valuable (in a not valuable way, heh). I've only sold one domain, and of course I registered that one by accident (pressed the submit button when I thought the script was in test mode -it wasn't, thus it was registered, whoops!). Turns out someone wanted it, heh. I might be rich if I accidentally register more in this fashion. :D

I only own two domains, and the only one worth anything is www.codecity.co.uk. I've been thinking of using it but don't really have the time.

I own a few domains but don't know if they are worth anything. I plan on developing them when i get the time.

May I ask how cybersquatters could possibly get involved here? Are you saying that there are some FAVOURITE domain names of yours that have NOT been registered? If this is really the case, please simply register them right away! For less than $10 per name/year, you don't need to be in such FEAR, unless you have hundreds of favourites ...

You can use a .org as you wish.. however when the .com/.net are already in use.. it's kinda hard to market a .org with the same prefix & not loose traffic to the .com or net site.

Folks associate a .org with an 'organization' or 'npo' (no profit)

.orgs are a quite good marketing tool for .coms

Not the best deal I made, not even 20% of my hkg.net/.org combo which fetched $6k 18 months ago. The market is not as good, but if you can get a good buyer (and a good name, of course), it's still worth the time and effort.

It's worth nothing, since Internic is a registered trademark of AT&T and the US DoC.

The .se TLD may not be covered under the UDRP (not sure), but AT&T or the DoC can still sue you for trademark infringement.
