View Full Version : alias to multiple accounts

Hi there,

I've a customer moving from a different provider and is willing to have, as he had in his old provider, an alias forwarding mails to two (or more) different accounts.

I tried to setup the same alias for two accounts in the same site and I got something like invalid alias or already in use.

I know I can from the shell create alias to multiple accounts, I just want to give the customer the ability to create this himself, from the control panel. Is there any workaround at least? A patch to allow multiple aliases, something I can do but to go directly to the shell?

The only way I am aware of to accomplish this is through the shell by creating a .forward file.

I'd second that.
.forward seems to be the only way without hacking the RAQ

What about a mailing list that sends to the 2 or more accounts in question?

Yes, the mailing list is not a bad idea... thanks!

When in doubt, don't forget to look at the obvious :)

I have a customer doing exactly this.

They are using the mailing lists to send one email addresses / aliases to 7-10 staff members.

Just remember to set config for the list so as non members can post to it.
