The hosting company Escalade Networks http://www.escaladenet.com/ has very low prices. $8/month for 75 MB disk space with no apparent limitations on bandwidth. I could find no mention of their virtual hosting on this site, there are no reviews in host search, and google only found two documents mentioning the site.

Would this be a descent host for a static site (no cgi/php)?
Has anyone hosted with them?
How is their customer support?

Don't know, but apparently, according to another thread, they used be known as Syntex Networks with the domain name syntexnet.com -- maybe you'd find something searching for that.
