Best website counter (hit counter)

Ok well iv been trying to google for the best most detailed website counter but i cant find one. does anyone know any good website counters that give you good details.

If you meant Analytics, then meh. I was never a fan of it.
I like hosting my own tracking scripts.
If you want an off site solution, Analytics might be good for you.

how about just a simple counter what shows hits in text? i dont really need anything extreme because cPanel does raw apache logs.

As I know Google Analytics do not provide any counter to show in website.
And if visitor block Google Analytics Script during visiting your website via Script Blocker, e.g. NoScript, I am not sure still it will able to analyze or not.
