I'll keep this simple: Merchant banks usually fix problems when you call them, PayPal does not. I've never ever had a problem with a real merchant account (aside from the occasional chargeback) where I have at least two serious problems per year with PayPal since opening the account in 1999.

Been using PayPal Pro for a while now. Effectively, it is basically a merchant account and processing into one. You get a new control panel with a virtual terminal etc. This control panel is also linked to your standard paypal control panel.
When you receive funds, it goes into your PayPal balance. Both control panels grab info from the same place regarding funds. I hardly use the extra control panel they provide unless I need to look a lot into a transaction.
You can search for transactions handled by PayPal pro through your standard PayPal, as if it was a normal PayPal transaction. The main reason we do this is because we want to keep the funds central..

So then it is easy to see when funds form a particular sale actually go into your account with PayPal Pro?

Yes, it would be easy to find a specific order/sale. PayPal is pretty user-friendly.
All the best,

paypal deducts more while conversion from currency to another. I have always noticed this. They don't apply the conversion rates of google or xe.com
