View Full Version : Econhosting or Myacen ?
coolgus 09-12-2002, 05:18 AM Hello
Great Forum
I am searching for a host with php ,mysql support basically and plenty of bandwith. After searching the web and this forum I came to 2 companies
Econhosting (http://www.econnhosting.net) and Myacen (http://www.myacen.com)
I read good things for Myacen but I haven't found anything for Econhosting which has a better package for me (executive with 45Gb bandwith and 1.5 GB HD) at 20$ !!!
I would like your opinion for this company and what do you suggest me to do. If you know a better host please let me know
Thanks
diederik 09-12-2002, 06:15 AM I've heard a lot of good things about MyAcen, never heard of EconHosting though.
Good luck in finding a host :)
NexDog 09-12-2002, 06:36 AM 45gb for $20 sounds like a great deal....if it's genuine. ;)
coight 09-12-2002, 06:40 AM Doesnt look like the other company exists? We win by default :D
Not so fast Robert ;)
Not sure why the site is down at the moment, but I'd like to give my 2 pence.
Econnhosting is partly owned by Jon Slivko:

I have chatted with him on many occasions and he has helped me a lot with general server admin stuff.
He's an all-round nice guy, and seems honest enough to do business with :)
Nothing against Myacen, but my recommendation to you is Econnhosting :D

bestyears 09-12-2002, 07:20 AM 45gb for $20 sounds too cheap. Remember how you get what you pay. I transfered all my sites from ReadyHosting to Myacen and their support is great. Very good uptime and fast servers.
andiegirl 09-12-2002, 11:29 AM I'm hosted by Myacen and I really recommend them! :) Affordable prices and fast support.
phantasywork 09-12-2002, 11:31 AM anything with the word "con" in it scares me personally:rolleyes:
Digital Host 09-12-2002, 01:39 PM I also recommend Myacen
The support is great and I know them from FWS.
Good luck.
tazzy 09-12-2002, 02:15 PM I also recommend Myacen, I have upmost respect for Robert and his business :)
:D:agree:
Curtis H. 09-12-2002, 06:37 PM Hmmm.
"EconnHosting understands that while providing you with high bandwidth and 99% uptime,..."
AntiSpamHosts 09-12-2002, 06:48 PM ...Your point?
Curtis H. 09-12-2002, 09:15 PM 99% Uptime? Kinda low isn't it? And, if you read their TOS, it could be worse .
2. Uptime
"EconnHosting will make access available to it's customers on a best-effort basis. Service outages can occur over which we have no control. Although our average system uptime is outstanding, we cannot and will not make any guarantee of any kind regarding the stability or uptime of this service."
Also, no mention of accounts that exceed bandwith limits that I saw. I did not see per gig over-charges or info stating whether or not if a site would be suspended or not if they exceeded their limit. Perhaps I missed it.
coolgus 09-15-2002, 04:11 PM Thank you all for your answers. I think I give a shot to Econhosting and see what happens. If only Myacen had a package with 45gb bandwith and less charge :)
hmm, checked out myacen.. very nice..
couldnt find econhosting?
is that econhosting.com ? if thats it then its down

anselxyz 01-29-2003, 11:22 PM If anyone is still reading this thread, I don't recommend EConnHosting. The people are nice, like everyone says, but I've had several days of downtime just this month, on multiple occasions. I'm switching away from them as we speak.
Terry 01-30-2003, 12:23 AM Do NOT hosting with econnhosting...their service was good up until today. I run a site about Shania Twain at teamshania.com and the traffic spiked after the Super Bowl and my site's been offline for an entire day. The site is still down and they haven't bothered to fix it. After I get my database downloaded, I'm switching hosts.

Tropical Tundra 01-30-2003, 12:49 AM The Econnhosting site is down too.
JWise 01-30-2003, 04:36 AM I see why they have no Uptime guarantees :stickout:
anselxyz 01-31-2003, 08:54 PM grr
Tropical Tundra 01-31-2003, 09:57 PM So many hosts are here today and gone tomorrow it's just incredible. I remember checking Econn out and they seemed decent all my pre-sales questions were answered their packages were realistic (no 50GB BW for $9/month crap) and viola 3-months later gone.
RossMAN 01-31-2003, 10:21 PM I don't host with either but this one is a no brainer, Myacen all the way.
anselxyz 03-04-2003, 08:12 PM *poof*
EConnHosting seems to be gone. They didn't even bother contacting me.

Yeah I can't get to the site with that link above or econhosting.net
Well with a name like that I guess it was too good to be true.
PierreB 03-06-2003, 12:09 PM Econnhosting.net was bought out by kualo.com , source comes from a customer of econnhosting.
ebird 03-12-2003, 03:49 PM actually, try jedito's services. YOu must be happy.
