There are some really cool (http://www.drgibson.com/towers/attbrig.html) facilities out there. The /. article says their going for $25k which seems like a steal for some of these places...
They were originally set up for long distance microwave transmissions across the mid-west.
These would be some really fun places to put a datacenter. I think the only problem would be connectivity. How many companies you know would want to string a DS-3 out there... Or how much would it cost to do so :D...
