Check out this time-lapse picture of MIR's final descent, the low orbit towards the left is MIR, the high orbit on the right is Hubble, like it was passing it waving goodbye :)

I'm guessing you saw the special conspiracy theory show on FOX too? I watched it too. They made some valid points, but how could America fake one of its greatest achievements? If anything, I would say that the pictures were faked ... taken in a lab somewhere. But I think that man truly did land on the moon.

Yes, MIR was great. Did it land on the Taco Bell bulls-eye? :)

They had the biggest everything; biggest boosters, biggest sats. You might say they overpowered the space race. Their contribution was enormous.

But look at the price their people paid (and are still paying). It bankrupted the government.

Mir was a great accomplishment!! Without the knowledge learned from Mir we wouldn't have ISS today.

Bahhh, all you people! The MIR was a hoax!

Sorry, I was just laughing from the other thread, heh heh.

Come on Chicken, you can't say that, you can't just ignore the facts. That is like the election:
Bush had 929 votes Gore had 843, who was the winner, y do we need a 4th count?

BTW counting is still going on!!! Why i dunno, but it is.

I hope you don't seriously think America wouldn't lie... I'd expect them to, more than not. After all, most of the the greatest achievements people boast about, are usually lies. My question would be; "How COULDN'T (or why wouldn't) America fame any great achievement?".. propaganda, my friend. :-) Although, I'm not convinced it did or didn't happen, it just seems suspect in a lot of aspects.

Yes, I believe the government has lied, and will continue to lie. I didn't live through the era of the moon landings, so I can't talk as much, but how would you go about faking a landing on the moon? I mean, really. Thousands of people were involved. Can you really silence that many people? Furthermore, the mistakes pointed out in that FOX special were too obvious. Would NASA _REALLY_ leave behind so many mistakes? Of course not. There are logical explanations for most of the flaws in those pictures.
