Why was WHT down for almost 17 minutes? Can rackshack not handle dos attacks?

It doesn't depend on WHT like most of the other hosts on here because I have a lucrative business.. I was just curious as to why it was down and why so long? With all that bandwidth and knowledge DDoS shouldn't be an issue for them. I've ran a shell provider for the past four years. DOS attacks are a daily issue but never take down the provider we're hosting with because they have awesome firewalls and know what they're doing.
