Hello,
I feel it is my place to advise people not to use xtremeserve.nets services.
Again, this was an ebay auction with a link to their website. So there was no buy it now or auction bidding.
So anyway. I purchased their product:
Master Reseller Unleashed UK
Located in Maidenhead, UK
Yearly Price 29.99
Thought I was getting a good deal. DIdnt realise tho until you actually sign up that you would be on a VPS with only 30Gigs worth of hard drive.
That really should have set the alarm bells ringing.
But I thought ok, well, they have a 30day money back guarantee if I am not entirely satisfied....
Heres their terms and conditions:
Refunds
If for any reason your are not satisfied with the Hosting Services provided, we offer a full money back promise. Simply cancel your Hosting Plan within the first thirty days of service and we will refund your money.
XtremeServe (dot) net. Terms
IH-Rameen 11-17-2008, 06:20 AM What was the included disk space and bandwidth?
One observation, not a criticism, but just an observation - You said you will raise this with your legal team within the organisation.. You can afford a legal team, but looked for a bargain on eBay instead of going with a reputable hosting company?
APS Enterprises 11-17-2008, 06:22 AM Hi,
Unlimited space, and bandwidth,
Cant afford a legal team, but the company I work for has (and they do give free legal advice to employees), so I will be talking to them.
If I could afford a legal team, I wouldnt be so worried about losing 30...

My thoughts too..
All the best with getting the money back
IPH - Tim 11-17-2008, 07:06 AM PayPal's buyer protection program does not cover intangible goods, so I don't think they will be of much help.
PayPal suck at chargebacks..

Starting to see that.. Will be looking at other vendors, so if anyone can suggest a good one that would be really great.

If only I knew that before.. Live and learn I guess. Well I hope that by letting everyone know just how bad extremeserve are, perhaps others will avoid them too.
I havent been doing hosting that long, so I am really new to this, I just didnt realise just how easy it is for people to con other people.
so so sad.

Reason: oops...cant spell LOL..
AHN-Andrew 11-17-2008, 07:18 AM Probably a think you could do is maybe complain to the VPS providers that the host is run on. Also just as your doing spread the word on your opinion.
Don't forget to make sure that its THEIR fault not yours first. As you don't want to be looking silly posting false info around
Good luck,
Hope this helps.
Edit.
They also seem to be using adsense ads on their site which is quite unprofessional. I also have a feeling that their VPS provider is solidhost.com

And what you believe they can do ? If this host buys a white labeled service from them they could get in a legal battle if they would attend this customer. Even though most of them may want to help the customer out because of professionalism it often is simply not possible due to contracts.
One advise to the OP; make sure you buy reseller hosting from a company which can truly give you reseller hosting; you do not buy this type of service from ebay.
APS Enterprises 11-17-2008, 08:57 AM Thanks. I guess u live, learn and get stung.
