Intellichat / Save-A-Sale

Do any of you have solid statistics on those programs working?
(The "HEY WAIT DONT GO YET TALK TO A LIVE AGENT" things that come up when you close a tab/window)
Ive heard they increase sales by 20%+ but honestly, they drive me nuts.
If a person wanted to talk to me, there is a live chat button.

If it's a pop-up window that appears upon exit, it would seem to be something that is being blocked by more and more web browsers. Firefox and other browsers block most such pop-ups by default, right?

I'm sure it works- some of the larger hosting firms using it.

Yeah, I noticed it on the justhost site and that was when I started to look into it.

No, the larger firms use live chat agents, not stupid bots or extremely uninformed "sales" agents.

I am more interested in just the save-a-sale javascript boxes and whatnot... would it be effective to connect every outgoing client to a sales agent?

The good thing is you only pay if it gets you a sale, so there's not a huge risk you're taking *shrug*
Woah, sorry for bumping such an old thread. Didn't see the date.

We won a bid to make this type of program. We saw the client's SAS stats they were closing 15+ sales a month and SAS was charging $15 per closed sale, but it was seriously worth it for them. We Charge $500.00 for ours and $30 a month for updating and Hosting the script. This is a huge savings Vs. a commission per closed sale charge. Works essentially the same. You provide us with the logic for it. Basically if the person types a word our script has a programed response, plus automatic closing and discount statements. Done right it's easy to fool visitors at your site and get sales closed. I've seen more and more Hosting companies using them. We are getting ready to launch ours publicly March.

It avoids browser blocking and pop up blockers, based on it's programming. I'm not at liberty really to say how.

rackspace used to do that and it was always aggravating when I was trying to just check out their site. I am against it as a consumer, but one thing I have learned is what works on me, may not be what works on everyone else. I would assume rackspace knows what they are doing, and it works for THEIR business model.

I have heard it works but personally I don't like them, they just seem annoying and imagining them on most of the sites makes me go nuts. So I will never prefer using them.

I would be more concerned with the fact that JustHost owns
