Volusion vs. Magento ???

I’m having a rough time deciding between Volusion and Magento for my first e-commerce website. Both are supposed to be very good, and I’m torn as to which way to go.
For those that have actually used both, could you please share your thoughts on which you prefer and why? Not as a developer (which I'm not) but as a site operator.
What are the pros and cons? Which is better for SEO? Which results in more completed orders, less abandonment? Stuff like that.
Any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I personally use volusion...
The biggest Con would be Gateway/Merchant Account Integration.
If your gateway is listed as one of there Compatible gateways, you will have to hire someone to do it for you, which isnt as easy as it seems. I went thru 7 different people, all said it can be done with ease but came back saying they couldnt do it, and the best I could hope for was a redirect to another checkout page. There are people who can help, but youd be looking at $300-$500...
Other than that they are great
Hope this helps

Have you ever used Magento (or similar solution)?
My big hangup with Volusion is that I think they're kinda greedy. They charge more for the monthly service than others do, charge a setup fee while others do not, charge more for the SSL cert than others do, hardly give any bandwidth (then charge a lot for overages), etc., etc.
If they were more reasonably priced I'd already be using them. But since they're not (in my opinion) I hesitate, and look into other offerings.

I have used Magento and it is an extremely powerful eCommerce solution.
I have however not used Volusion.
I would recommend Magento, it has powerful SEO capabilities. For the entire Magento feature set have a look at http://www.magentocommerce.com/features
What are you going to use this for on your site?

No problems!
Good luck with it and if you have any issues ask here or in the magento forum.

I'll need to hire a Magento developer. Any suggestions on where to find one? (the "Getafreelancer" type sites often end up being a waste of time).

I would recommend posting a thread on WHT where users can respond back if they can offer you with this service.
At the moment we can not post back to advertise our own only other's and I don't know anyone else that is a Magento developer.
Good luck finding one.

Have you looked at corecommerce? I'm trying to decide between them and Volusion myself.

Yep, but I wasn't too impressed with the actual live site examples I looked at.
Have you taken a look at Magento? Since you seem to be in a similar boat as I am, I like to know your thoughts on Magento vs. Volusion.
