what is this private servers? You mean shared dedicated server? If so, then... yes, you can find a fully dedicated server all for yourself (not shared) for the same price (with that much bandwith).

Name some other companies that are similiar, if there are.

Also in regards to ensim and its control panel. From looking at costs I can name tons of companies that charge alot more then that.

Feel free to give idea's.

Im not aware of many companies that use ensim as a control panel and give away private servers cheaper.

First of all no where on my company's site is there any mention of this. So Im not advertising nor am I listing any companies who offer this.

I was looking at superb.net, there rather expensive, compared to this.

You still have not given us enough information, we would need to know:

1. How much RAM?
2. What is the processor speed of the server?
3. What is the charge for bandwidth over the 50 Gigs?

You also need to clarify, is this a dedicated server, or are there going to be multiple customers on this server?

1gb of RAM

18gb SCSI

There will be a total of 4 clients, I think per server. Since Ensim can create 4 private dedicated servers on one machine, each client will have full root access to there designated private server.

Current quotes are at $2 per gb over.

Its okay, but for $150 I would prefer my own server.

So for $150/mo you'd be using a shared machine, and have about 4gb of space?

Why not get a proper server, or even a Raq, and sub-let some of the space and get some money back? If you follow the link in the above post, they seem to have a lot more machine for the same price...

I currently have a small Ensim Server with the webppliance control panels. It's hosted at forsite.net and I get a 5% slice of a large server with enough diskspace that can grow and up to 10 domains (name based). I chose the ensim solution over a Cobalt simply because:

1) I don't have to own or lease an expensive server
2) I get more than just a virtual domain I get control
3) It is redhat compatible, I can install my own RPMS
4) I can compile my own programs and control my own software with root access. I did not want the analog so I downloaded and installed jpeg,libpng and then compiled Webalizer 2.0.. I wanted to install the RPM updates for rpm,syslog, etc.. from red hat.. I just did it on my own..
5) I get perl,php,python,mysql,pop,imap,mod_perl
6) Security.. I get SSH access to my server.

Oh and every was configured out of the box. I did not have to do anything to get my sites running to begin with.. And all with SSL abilities. No guessing no hard work that I did not want to do on my own anyway.

I get all my domains for $79.00 a month with root access!

I don't think any dedicated or shared domain plan can compare. Sure my server is less expensive, but I am paying for what I need. If I need more RAM or CPU or disk I simply pay more. Why should I pay for power I don't need. getting a dedicated server for my needs is like buying a car just to go on vacation.

How many people are like me out there. Need more than a simple domain account and less than a dedicated server?? I bet more than a million!

I know of a company that is launching the private servers, that will blow away the market.

They will launch in about 2 months.
