View Full Version : Domains 4 sale (again....)
brainbox 03-22-2001, 03:45 PM Hello again,
Let me try this one again, as the last time I posted it, I had a lot of inquiries, but people failed to send an offer.
So, send an offer to mediadezines@earthlink.net and if your offer is approved, we will contact you, if it's not, then you wont be contacted. Simply that, you price the domains you want for what your willing to pay for them, and what you think their worth, no haggling, nuttin, it's that simple.
Okay:
HostResearch.com
HostingBeacon.com
Kuplo.com
OnlineWarGames.com
SoftwareParade.com
GameReview.ws
IwebRunner.com
Metaquis.com
NewsDial.com
BrainBoxCreations.com
VisionaryDezines.com
We are pretty much getting out of the whole web development thingy all togther, other than 4 "tycoon" sites that we will continue to maintain, we had plans on developing all of these, and have to a certain extent worked on some of them, but health, jobs, loved ones etc are forcing a sale of these domains.
So, make an offer by sending an email to mediadezines@earthlink.net with a firm offer.
Thanks,
BB
Chris 03-22-2001, 04:43 PM Why are you selling your hosting companies domain?
brainbox 03-22-2001, 04:53 PM To be quite honest, we've had no luck at ataining customers (well at least paying customers). We've been at it for about 3 months now, listing in the search engines, paying people like looksmart etc. The one signup that we got from goto.com turned out to be credit card fraud, so we've finally come to the realization that we no longer have the funds, nor the time to properly promote our hosting site. I believe we have one more month on our server, so come Apr 30th, 2001 everything will be sold or closed down and put up on sites like greatdomains etc.
It's a tough business to break into at this point in time, though some people are very successfull and doing quite well, personally I can't compete with others that are offering hosting at $7.95/month, I decided when I started to do this, that I would support every customer to the best of my ability, and I know if I were to put up hosting at $5.95 a month, that I would get customers, but would not be able to support them in a timely fashion.

Haakon 03-25-2001, 04:13 PM Why don`t you get 30 or so customers that is paying cheap and then raise the price for the others when you have a good rep. ?
brainbox 03-25-2001, 05:32 PM Yup, thats an idea, though I have only one more month on the server that Im on, so if I can find at least 20 accounts at $5.95, then it would pay for itself, but let's say that I get only 10 accounts, then that wont pay, and I wont be able to afford the server anymore, thus I'd have to tell 10 people that we are going bust, and make the headache for them.
I think at this time, it's best to just try and sell off the domain name, and site and when I can afford it again at a later date, and if I still want to do hosting, then I'll try it again. I figured in 4 months, that I'd have enough customers to at least pay the server fees per month, but that just hasn't happened.

Haakon 03-25-2001, 06:15 PM Ok, I think you should try again, but the second time as a reseller; and then get over to a ded if you succeeed. Not much money to loose as a reseller.
brainbox 03-25-2001, 07:23 PM Does anyone know of a reseller on raq's, quite honestly I dont want to become a reseller of a company that has the alabanza servers ,since they are way too high for me to afford, even if I do become a profitable reseller, my ex partner has an alabanza server, it's been up for 2 or 3 years now, and hes just breaking even now. Im thinking that to resell on an alabanza host, then have to move all those accounts to a raq would not be a wise move, and since I really do like the raq's, so simple to deal with, that I'd probably like to look into a raq reseller options.
Anyone?
Synergy 03-25-2001, 11:28 PM Well the webhosting business is a hard one to live with. You can't compete with tera-byte, hostrocket, and venturesonline since everyone recommends them. I would just give up too if I was at your situation. If you need help marketing your services, drop me a email. :) I would be happy to keep you in business.

Peeps 03-26-2001, 12:03 AM It's been 2 or 3 years and your ex-partner is only now breaking even? That tells me that he's doing something wrong or should never have gotten an Alabanza server in the first place.
