View Full Version : HostNine
RandyE 11-10-2008, 06:49 PM I currently have a reseller account with HostNine. I have to say, they are great. They offer shared hosting and dedicated servers as well. They have GREAT uptime, and a customer service that is great. Their live chat personnel are great at what they do, and very professional, they can help you with a lot of issues you may have, or if not, point you in the right direction (very rare) Their support ticket personnel are also great. They show you the average response time per ticket on their support page, as well as how many are waiting. All of their support personnel really are there for you, they try to keep their customers happy. And if a customer has a less than happy encounter with them, they don't try to cover it up or anything like that, they fix the issue, and make every step possible to make sure there are not any problems like that again. They offer free WHMCS with each account, as well as a control panel called "Reseller Central" which allows you to actually create each account. You can integrate WHMCS into RC. I would recommend them to my mother (If I didn't have a reseller account) If you don't believe me, check them out for yourself.

I take it you're having a great time with them!
How long have you had an account with them?
JohnJ 11-10-2008, 07:05 PM What domain do you host with them?
RandyE 11-10-2008, 07:07 PM As a reseller? Not very long at all, less than a month. But I have also had a shared hosting plan with them, and that is several months long.
Edit: And yes, I am having a great time with them, they bend over backwards to help their costumers out.

Please share either one of them with the moderating team via http://www.webhostingtalk.com/report.php?p=5402872, to help us validate your review.

RandyE 11-11-2008, 03:09 AM That domain is the shared hosting domain, that was just moved to my reseller account yesterday.

Why not. That is small period of time and it is his experience, which is good according to his review.
RandyE 11-11-2008, 07:05 AM For each issue I have had, whether it was a question or something needed added/fixed, they have worked with me until the issue was complete. They have really quick response times, and I'm 100% happy with them. Like I've said, if something is not satisfactory for a customer, they try to fix it, and learn from their mistake, so they don't repeat it. I would think any amount of time being with someone is enough to review them, based on your experiences, from 10 years to 10 minutes, you have still had an experience with them, and you can still comment on how they performed for you. My review what just that, MY review, based on MY experiences with them.
ldcdc 11-11-2008, 12:03 PM That domain is the shared hosting domain, that was just moved to my reseller account yesterday. As far as I can see, infotechland.org was registered on 19 Oct 2008. That's less than a month ago.
iHubNet-Matt 11-11-2008, 12:43 PM Oh even before registering he started hosting with them;).

Must be some new technology we don't know about. :P

RandyE 11-11-2008, 02:00 PM lol I went through a faze before that where I was obsessed with the sims (dont ask) and I had a package with them before the infotechland......but after a while I got bored of the sims so I cancelled the package. I honestly couldn't tell you what the domain name is anymore as I have not had it for a little while.

You were obsessed with it, but somehow forgot the domain?
hzDylan 11-11-2008, 02:36 PM I find it very interesting that you registered with WHT this month and posted that fabulous review after hosting your website with them for less than a month. IMO - the industry doesn't need support techs bending over backwards to keep customers who take advantage of support happy - we need professional, knowledgeable, prompt (clear) and courteous support reps.
For each issue I have had, whether it was a question or something needed added/fixed, they have worked with me until the issue was complete. They have really quick response times, and I'm 100% happy with them. What wasn't satisfactory and needed fixing?
10 minutes of uptime wouldn't necessarily be GREAT, as even the worst hosts can pull that off, whereas 10 years of uptime would be extremely impressive, so I would say that does make a big difference.
The same can be said about customer support; a host's staff may be very helpful when everything is going well, but to remain professional under adverse circumstances is much more difficult. You need a longstanding relationship to see someone's true colours.
Let's hope that in a year's time, you still feel exactly the same as you do now, and can post another review to share your experiences :)
shahnawab 11-11-2008, 10:43 PM It is really amazing instead of improving service quality companies are having such passive marketing.
So beware of such companies.
Manageandsupport_com 11-11-2008, 11:42 PM Don't want to open a door here but to me this review sounds 'fishy.' The only reason that I am saying this is if check the first post of the OP he is praising the service, but his responces after it was discovered that his domain is registered for such a short time show a decrease in enthusiasm. Makes me think that the OP is making the story up as he is going along or maybe I am just being too observative. :)
RandyE 11-12-2008, 03:52 AM With me, they have been nothing but great. Other people have had bad experiences, as happens in every line of work, check out their forum, they don't censor the bad reviews. What would I gain by giving a good review to hostnine? I gain no money, I gain no free advertising (have you noticed I'm not trying to advertise my site here, nor put links to my website(s)) I don't get anything, I am merely trying to help others make a decision when looking for a host, whether it be shared hosting or reseller, or even dedicated servers. If you think this review is fishy, then by all means, ignore it. MY review was MY review, like I have previously stated. If you don't feel that my experiences with them warrant a review, then ignore it, however, in one year I will be back here, giving the same review, only covering a longer time period. I think they are great hosts, and I will not be moving anytime soon.
And to the person that said I was obsessed but forgot my domain, I was obsessed with the Sims, not the website. I do reselling as a hobby, not as a full blown business. My real job, I work 6-8 criminal investigations a day, I cant remember everything that I have done in the past week let alone the past several months.
iHubNet-Matt 11-12-2008, 03:27 PM in one year I will be back here, giving the same review, only covering a longer time period. I think they are great hosts, and I will not be moving anytime soon.
Wish you all the best. Please don't forget to come back after one year.
RandyE 11-12-2008, 05:00 PM I plan on sticking around this community, there is a lot of good information here. However, in a year, there will be another good review for all the ney sayers here :)

Don't start throwing out that just because you don't believe him that it is some ploy from hostnine.
I have been with HostNine for over a year now and I love the company. I enjoy the support and the service and have shared my experience many times on WHT.
RandyE 11-15-2008, 04:33 AM thank you cs
