View Full Version : Remote Tech Wanted - Ensim Knowledge Etc
Deahost 09-10-2002, 06:45 PM Hi,
We are looking for a remote tech that is fully conversant with Ensim, Plesk, Cpanel, Redhat, Mysql, Php etc etc........
Get the drift!!
We would like 2 techs that will cover a 24hr spell or as dam close to it as possible.
Send me an email to: brian@deahost.com with what you have to offer and what your price is.
Don’t forget, I could go to Bobcares for round the clock support.
The support will be via an email system, ICQ, live chat and trouble ticket via Phpmyadmin.
Now it’s up to you guys.
Regards,
Brian James

What is this suppose to mean?
rasilva 09-10-2002, 07:51 PM If you can go to Bobcares why are you wasting your time posting this message here?
Just go!
Deahost 09-10-2002, 08:45 PM There are always others on this forum who takes great pride in slagging others off.
Is it a hobby, full time job or only done part time?
So far 2 replies and they are not worth my answer.
BUT I will for the fun of it.
To post 1 (Shyne) exactly what it means, I can go to Bobcares for round the clock support.......... Hang on!!!!
I CAN GO TO BOBCARES FOR ROUND THE CLOCK SUPPORT. Just in case you missed it again LOL (Joke).
To post 2 (rasilva) I’m not wasting my time at all, just because I said Bobcares does not mean I will go with them. So far I have had some excellent replies via PM, ICQ and email and now I will leave this post open for someone else to reply or make an enquiry.

Shyne 09-10-2002, 09:00 PM Deahost I was not slagging your post. Use your brain before you assume anything.
When you said you can go to Bobcares to me it sounded like you are looking for some one to work for 12hours a day and charge less then Bobcares.
Obviously you're a tiny company and you are looking to find a person to work for you for as cheap as possible so maybe you really should go with Bobcares. You fall under the category of hosts who are looking for admins from MIT to work for you for $100 a month.
AntiSpamHosts 09-10-2002, 09:25 PM I didn't get the point that he wanted them to work cheaper, but thats just me.
For 12 hour/day technicians, especially the ones during the late hours (unless you divide it like 12-12 and 12-12) will usually cost you more than $400/month. I work 65 hours/week (which equals about 8/hour day, although I work more on some days and less on others) and I only request $150/month, but most people will cost more.
2host.com 09-10-2002, 09:35 PM I'll remove my comments out of respect for the original poster. Good luck.
AntiSpamHosts 09-10-2002, 09:55 PM I didn't say anything about 70 or 80K a year, because I don't make it. I am in school still, I don't need 70 or 80K. I work simply to get a server of my own, which $150 covers.

My mistake then, in another post, you said "I make $120,000.", but I guess you were joking then. I just remembered seeing that post, not the fact it was posted in humor.

2host.com 09-11-2002, 03:40 AM I don't think it's a wise idea to discuss this in public, in another person's job post, bobares. Let's take this to PM and remove our public posts.
Deahost 09-11-2002, 07:22 AM Ummmmmm looks like there is a wide range of services being offered and at a cost that goes from pocket money to a true wage.
Tech support people are hard to come by and good ones at that. What I’m finding is that people are responding to this post via PM, email etc and quite a few are only using this as to build up there resume or pay for goods at the end of the month.
We understand that you get what you pay for and those words are true indeed. But in today’s market place it does not hurt a company to find the best he can get for as little overheads as possible, thats business.
I have so far received 16 requests and we will soon be looking into them a bit more closely. They might not come from WHT at all because we have people who respond from outside WHT so if we go with someone else then its not a reflection on anyone form this forum.
We are looking at all avenues and YES even good old Bobcares :) is being considered as well along with 2 other companies.
Regards and thank you.

Then there's the people who want everything for nothing. It would seem you're one of the latter.

So, GO to bobcares (I don't).
The fact of the matter is you came in here, holding this up over everyone's head (hey pal, I can go here, you'd better beat that or not even waste my time).
If you want to go there, go there, do that. Will you get the best service? Maybe, maybe not, just remember this; In life, YOU get what you pay for, not a penny more.
While everyone wants a bargain, asking people to do slave labor just isn't cool. Of course there's people out there (like myself) who do it for nothing, just because we love our work, but still, that's no excuse for people to take advantage of that.

Ummmmmm I want something for nothing!!!!!! Well you know me do you? NO - Do you know what Im offering NO.
I dont mention what pay structure im offering, I leave that to the person who has applied for the postion and I make a note on there comments. I dont and will not say Im going to pay $100 a month. I leave it up to whom is applying and I will make my mind up on there skill and NOT money. As I said before, you get what you pay for.

Ummmmmmmm
I dont hold anything up for ransom or ask anyone to apply. Its up to who wishes to apply and state what they are worth.

Who is taking advantage? Im not. Im asking people to apply and state what they can do and state what they are worth. If I choose to go somewere else thats my business and not yours.
2host.com 09-11-2002, 06:13 PM Bobcares, I don't think it's a wise idea to discuss this in public, in another person's job post. I also have always used this same member name, and my name is clearly in my signature (and always has been). I don't know who you think I am or if you're just trying to make excuses to make me look like a liar and have no credit to my claims, but I've been me for as long as I can recall and this claim doesn't make sense. Feel free to see that I had thousands and thousands of posts on usenet, where I have been posted for a long time, and I have changed nothing between here and there.
You can also have the mods here see my ISP I always use compared to who you think I am, and I would be happy to copy my drivers license to an image to show you I'm me. I've never used another name here (other than "rob2132" a few times). In other words, we can take up any real issues (you can see I didn't make them up and have no ulterior motives and I'm only me, not someone disguised to try and make you look bad) in PM and off this other person's thread. I'm not sure what else to say or do to make that clear or prove it to you?
You know my issues, I've stated them in PMs to you (by your request I do to explain the problems, where you just attacked me for doing as you asked), so there's no reason to go on about it here. Let's take this to PM and remove our public posts. I have sent you this notice and request in a PM and you can see I have done the respectful thing and removed my posts in this thread. Our problems with each other don't belong here and we can hash it out in private (if at all).
bobcares 09-12-2002, 03:24 AM Hi!
The way you respect this other person is the way I respect my staff.
I have deleted the post and do not feel like talking to you on this matter. I have deleted the post just because we do not have the time to waste on such matters. Constructive criticism is appreciated. But just bashing is not tolerated by us...
Let me tell you we have no feeling that we are good or bad. We know that we can compete in the market and do well.. We also know that others including you are good and can come in anytime and give good service.
There are some major datacenters and hosting companies that are looked after by us without any screwups ever. When I say big datacenters I mean guys with over 5000 dedicated servers or hosting companies with over 100000 virtual clients (some rank in the top 5 companies in the world). They are very happy with our work and pay us very well for it. They all are not fools to have some group which knows nothing...
All I say is please do not go about bashing others without fully knowing anything...
When I first sent a PM to you it was out to a real interest to hear complains and improve. Not get some rubbish on what we could have possibly done and how hard you guys had to work. If you go to that ticketing system and read our responses you'll realize who did what. Be truthful to yourself. There is nothing to prove to anybody...
Anyway, the past is past and I would appreciate it if you go on with life further and live it to the full. We all get just one life to live where I personally feel we make friends rather than enemies... Also, in process contribute something back to the society and improve our lives...
Have a great day :)
Regards
Amar
