but their servers are getting slammed. it's been almost 20 minutes and i still haven't gotten my code for PRO emailed to me yet.

ARGH!!!!!
they should have known their server would be blown off the map when they released it, wish they had some mirros in place.

rackspace probably went nuts thinking it was a DDoS or something against the trillian server.

trillian is hosted on rackspace? :O

the IP for ceruleanstudios seems to be at rackspace.

they should have an unmetered box from rackshack for downloads or something and the rackspace box for their website, imho. i bet their bandwidth costs are outrageous.

skylab,

Why are you in the rush to download the new version? Nothing special about it.

skylab

oh, ok, then i guess since there's nothing special about it i won't even waste my time downloading it.

Is PRO worth it?

Hard to tell until they sort out the key generator script which it would seem is not working for anyone...

Looks very promising though and considering the fact that the script avoids all those ad's, etc... it's nice to be able to put something back for all the effort they've made....

Not sure about $25 per year but we'll see.

I've always liked Trillian. The Pro version is free to anyone who donated more than a dollar on the freeware version. However, I too am waiting for my key. :)

I re requested my key and it came instantly.

There are alot of new features I've been wanting. Floating contacts (like ICQ) and the ability to set a default connection so you don't have to select one everytime with multiple accounts.

If you're debating on the pro version, it's well worth the $25.

WARNING: the plugins are addictive!! i'm been scouring news feeds all day. now, i'm awaiting the telnet/ssh (server admin through trillian!!), jabber and odigo plugins, and many of the other ones under construction!

Any word on why they changed from the logos from the IMs to colored dots?

skylab

legality.

they can't directly sell a piece of software that includes the logos (property) of the other services.

the skins take care of that however. just use a different skin.

I was reading the site and I got the impression you pay $25/year? Is this the case?

Zak

$25 for the program, which includes 1 year of updates from cerulean.

if after a year you want another year of updates (including plugins i think), you pay another $25. you keep the program, it's just the updates you're paying for.

I paid via pay pal, but have not recieved anything other than confirmation.

How long does it usually take? I paid through my checking, so do I have to wait for the check to clear?

Thanks- just a bit anxious to get the new and improved...

depends if you paid with a paypal e-check, which can take up to 4 days i think. it's a great new release. i can't wait for more plugins to come out. especially the telnet/ssh plugin!!!
