View Full Version : What happened to SensibleHost.net
Limbo 09-10-2002, 04:09 PM I was hosted by them and then they just said "Sorry we're closed" on their site, then a week or so later everything just went down, along with my domain name which i'm having trouble of recovering since I can't get ahold of the company :(

I'm sorry - That really stinks :(
What is your domain name? 9/10 times they are an enom reseller, so it may be possible to regain control of it.
Limbo 09-10-2002, 04:22 PM My domain was www.limbo-designs.com
It was registered with www.itsyourdomain.com
AQHost 09-10-2002, 04:31 PM Well that sucks. Seems Matthew Chan (who I assume is/was SensibleHost.com) registered the domain in his own name. Have you contacted him through his phone number?
Best wishes,
Simon.
Akash 09-10-2002, 04:35 PM Yes, or if you have the original email receipt....see if it shows the sale for the domain separately (with the domain listed)...if you can't get ahold of Matt, you can send it to itsyourdomain and they might be able to transfer control
AntiSpamHosts 09-10-2002, 05:31 PM Another failed host. That makes the list about 19503296209362093482395823095 hosts long.
Limbo 09-10-2002, 06:06 PM Actually Mathew Chan is my name, and his name is Donny Field, but he used his company name for the registrant name :\
Akash 09-10-2002, 06:19 PM ok then, call up the registrar and explain your situation, they'll ask you for a form of id (driver's license, creditcard, etc) and give you access...
Limbo 09-10-2002, 06:28 PM Yea I did, but they kept saying I need the co-operation of Sensible Hosting (which is kinda void cuz they went outta business), or Don (the founder) for me to be able to get my domain back :(
Akash 09-10-2002, 06:30 PM ????
Did you tell them that you couldn't contact them?
Limbo 09-10-2002, 06:31 PM Yup I did, right now i'm hoping they would accept some sort of photoID or something, like health card and such. :|
Akash 09-10-2002, 06:35 PM Yes ask them if they would just change the password and/or contact information....good luck :)
Pilgrim 09-10-2002, 06:36 PM Didn't he give you a link and id/pw to control your domain once he registered it for you?
Strange way of doing business :(
Limbo 09-10-2002, 06:37 PM Well I just asked them to change the DNS info for me, and they won't, and No he didn't provide me with the login/pw
AQHost 09-10-2002, 06:52 PM Is the phone number that's listed in WHOIS yours or his? Or do you have a physical address for him?
Simon.
Limbo 09-10-2002, 07:07 PM The phone number is mine, and I do not have any information about him, which is a problem :(
AQHost 09-10-2002, 07:26 PM Ok. Then have you tried emailing the administrative contact for the SensibleHost.com domain? It's:
webmaster 'at' del-ten.demon.co.uk
Maybe that would get you somewhere?
Simon.
Limbo 09-10-2002, 07:33 PM Hmm I will try that, thanks.
AQHost 09-10-2002, 07:55 PM Give him a day or two to respond, and if it doesn't work PM me. I may have an alternative plan.
Best wishes, and fingers crossed!
Simon.
ForumsAddict 09-10-2002, 07:59 PM ya give em a day or two,,,may be he comes in his senses....:(
Limbo 09-10-2002, 10:30 PM Awesome, he just helped me transfer all the stuff. Thanks.
