I wonder what kind of disk drive might be used in those super duper servers. I have not read anywhere that humans have invented an unlimited mater. I am very curious as the technology could put the last year's physics noble prize to bottom of the line.

Imagine the headache for the end user trying to get an issue sorted, the support chain is comical!

Most certainly. Even if all the entities in the chain respond (let the upstream know of the issue) in under 10 minutes, it could take an hour to have the issue solved, and probably two hours to receive a final response back (as an end user). That's not taking into account that say the alpha reseller might be sleeping, then go to work/school and only after that check his emails. :)

Over time they all started dropping the prices until they were $5/month for one. At what point do you either upgrade the servers or add additional ones?
For my VPS servers, I consider "full" to be where usage is approximately 80%, when viewed over a 24 hour period and for a few days, to give an accurate number). It'd be nice if I was able to do it at 90% or 95%, but that wouldn't leave any room for "bursts" in CPU usage.
I've never compared notes with anyone else on how they did things, so since you've commented that you're not like other companies and take care of your users, perhaps I can learn something from the formula you're using to consider a server "loaded".

I had to sell my first hosting company when government officials came to my door and told me that another host (in keeping with it's promises) needed my server's hard drives for a user on an unlimited space plan. The user who had the $4.95/month plan was making a backup copy of the internet using Norton Backup, for use when the network was down.

There's another tiny technical detail that is troublesome. As far as I know, 10K RPM drives are only SAS and SCSI drives, and they come in different sizes, like 73GB, 146GB, 300GB. Not 250 though, so that's odd.
In the personal desktop arena, I know the WD Raptor is 10K RPM, and it is SATA, but that's not a server drive. For the server arena, the only SATA drives I've seen have been 7200 RPM.
