Hey guys,
I'm trying to find the best solution for support, billing and automation.
I have been using WHMCS but when I want to edit certain stuff I ask WHMCS for help and they refuse and say it's impossible etc etc...
I have left a poll for a few products..
Let me know what you think.
Thanks.
Mike

WHMCS is by far the best product at it's price point.

Well I wanted to add another product type and they say that it's impossible etc.
It just seems like when I want to edit a few things WHMCS tend to say it's impossible.
As I always say... nothings impossible.
Thanks.

Can you explain what type of questions that you have asked?I'm not the OP but I have had the same issue with Matt from WHMCS.
I asked if it was possible to have invoices sent weekly, there are a few clients that prefer weekly invoices. I was offering to pay for a mod so that I could have weekly invoices. The response I received was "This is impossible".
In my eyes this is a little unprofessional. Even with this setback I still use WHMCS as it is a great lightweight solution for what it does.

I do agree on this... WHMCS is PERFECT!!! but it has it's downfalls when you ask for support.
Anything to do with editing all I ever get is "impossible".
Thanks.

Thanks.Perfect? If it was perfect you would not need to request mods. If it was perfect I would not be thinking of developing an inhouse solution that does EXACTLY what we need here at DephNet Technologies.
While WHMCS is a great solution it most definitely not perfect.

Paul & Mike, this is a little unfair I feel from you two. Custom modifications for our users are a core part of what we do and not a day goes by when I'm not working on at least one customisation for someone! I would sure hope nobody would ever get a short 3 word response of "This is impossible" from me or any of my staff but there are of course certain encoded areas you cannot modify without our help.
Paul, if you can let me know the ticket number where you requested something and got that response, I would like to review it to ensure it doesn't happen again. If it was a request for an additional billing cycle then that isn't something we could do as a custom mod due to the scale of it, but we can offer alternatives.
Mike, I don't remember your ticket specifically but the example you've given of wanting to add another product type is something we get asked frequently. The response is always the same - you don't need to do it. The product type has 4 options and that is used to define the item to WHMCS. Anything that doesn't fit one of the core 3 of shared, reseller or server types, is type other and that tells WHMCS how to handle it. You should use product groups to divide your products up into groups for your own management, not product types.

Hi Matt,
Unfortunately I am unable to find out the ticket ID that we requested weekly billing in as 1) it was almost 2 years ago I asked, 2) we have since left WHMCS, and come back and 3) we do not have access to the domain we used back then.
I must say that at the moment we only have 2 clients that have requested weekly billing, and any more that request it will be prompted that we are unable to do that, so there is no real need for this now.
As I said before WHMCS is a great product, if it was not I would not go back to it, I would not call it perfect, in fact no product is "perfect", but it does what it does amazingly.
I will bow out of this topic now and continue this with Matt in private.

I have nothing but praise for Matt and WHMCS. They have given me great help and WHMCS has done everything we require of it. We looked around at other products and looked initially for a simple software solution. I avidly read this forum and took advice. WHMCS. Never regretted it.

You can add a php/cron job to read the products/domains for those clients who want invoices weekly and set the due-date back to the nearest previous Monday (if not on a monday already) - relatively trivial :D
WHMCS isnt perfect, but having used MB, LPanel, WHMAP and a few others, IMHO is the best supported, and continually developed of them, and we're happy to be using it across 6 different brands and setups.

WHMCS is easy to learn (and more importantly, easy to teach to your staff), functionally magnificent, and infinitely customizable. Matt and team are quick to respond to tickets. The architecture of the program is so well-planned and executed that it is actually kind of fun to use, while competing products tend to be frustrating. The forums provide a nice community setting to learn and share. All in all, I'd say do the trial run and you'll be hooked.

WHMCS. It not only has a billing system but a support system as well.

Out of those four choices, WHMCS is leaps and bounds ahead of the others.

Hands down WHMCS. We used MB v4 for around four years and support for that product went down hill and from what I read it is worse than ever for v5.
WHMCS. Easy to use, clients love the detail in billing and options they have. Support has been wonderful. There was a feature we really wanted in WHMCS, we submitted a request and it is on the DEV list to be implemented. Matt is constantly improving this product.
:agree: :agree: Two big thumbs up.
