Based on the thread located here (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73332)

How many active member out of the total registered non-banned members do you suppose there are?

Active meaning within the last 3 months.

I know mods can pull this information somewhat, so wait before showing this information

i voted 1000....i'd say 5% is the average....

Samuel

Very conservative, this is my initial thought. My first thought was 1500 due to the currently active users, and the bogus new registers, and the valid new registers.

I suppose 1000 is more on target, but it's going to be hard to get the information from the database due to the multiple personalities that are thriving on the board.

I'm going to vote for 1500 to 3000, I made these numbers up quick so I hope they lend themselves to a good outcome of the poll.

I voted for 3000-5000

Cool floppy, the poll is only going to run for 15 days and if a mod happens along he could stick it, then at the end of the pull after extract the information from the database and post it for the sake of the poll then drop it from sticky. Just an idea... ho hum =)

It is time now to mods to do the vote. They can know the exact statistics. :dunce:

I also voted 1000 based on sams theory and average thread views.

How do you rate active? would i be counted as active? ;)

Samuel
09-10-2002, 02:55 AM
Simple, have posted within the last 3 months, or has been on the board within the last 30 days

edude
09-10-2002, 02:56 AM
In that case much more than 1000, i mean many people prefer just to read than post.

You have a good point, I knew if we started talking about the numbers, and the activity details it might show the speed in which I posted my thought on the subject.

I voted "C"

Then I had to change it. Because it seems there isn't a C. :bawling:

Somehow the 3000-5000 caught my eye. I suppose that could be because of Samuels' last definition of an active member.

[edit]

sure miss the time when we had a spell checker

So I'm not supposed to post the actual number?

Samuel
09-10-2002, 10:54 AM
If you can safely pull that information, sure go for it.

I can't give you numbers of how many have been on the forum in the last 30 days, as guests throw that number off. What I can tell you...

Registered members who have visited the forum in the last 30 days: 5513
Registered members who have posted within the last 3 months: 6666

This is as of today. I am the only one who voted 5000-10000 -do I get a prize? ;)

ahahha damn, shocking baby!

Thanks for the work Chicken, gives one a time to sit back in Awe

(Also shows the job the moderators actually have)

Good job =)

May be strange for you all to know, but we have had 1203 registered users visit in the last 24 hours.

(more than most were expecting)

and 6857 is now the 3 month count from July 11th - September 11th

which makes 191 visitors in the last few hours (and thats when most in the USA are asleep)

I "was" an active member - but as soon as I hit 1,000 posts I always change my handle.

wow more than 5000 in the last 3 months. Funny only a handful post often.

XTStrike
09-11-2002, 08:23 AM
hmm, thats not actually true net-trend, of the number of members to have visited the board in the last 3 months stands at 6857 and the number of those that have posted in the last 3 months is 5253 therefore id say its a little more than a hand ful that post often :)

:D

OK, OK, I don't want to spoil everyone's fun and let the cat outta the bag. Ignore me. I didn't give away the answer, I was just pulling your leg.

Ever wonder why someone had a cat in a bag? Not that I care for cats all that much, but isn't that cruel? Anyway, back to pulling on your leg...

Samuel
09-15-2002, 02:35 AM

Chicken
09-15-2002, 02:44 AM
No, but if it adds to the fun of continued guessing, then sure. By the time you're not confused the numbers will have gone up anyhow and we'll all be wrong, even if we were right :D

interactive
09-15-2002, 02:46 AM
