I've been reading the first page of threads in this forum and am gathering some information for a business plan I am writing for a web hosting reselling solution we're going to be offering at my company. I gather the following are important to a reseller:

- Private label hosting
- anonymous nameservers
- transparent tech. support

- Control Panel (yes, very obvious these days)
- CPanel seems popular

- Other.. (too many to list)

What I would like to know is what kinds of features do you demand that are lacking in the current array of reseller plans? I would like to be able to bridge this gap and offer reliable and affordable reseller plans to the industry.

Also, I am wondering, a lot of reseller plans offer CPanel -- however, there are control panels made by Ensim, Plesk, SWSoft and others -- why do you prefer CPanel over those others?

You did not mention close relationship with your parent company, this will help a lot.

Sales and marketing training and assistance. This could include anything from weekly conference calls or chats about sales objections, advertising sources, etc. - to things like pre-printed sales literature for a reseller to just run through their laser printer, client newsletter services, etc.

Of course - if you do the technical backend, support assistance, now sales help - Geez, what's there for the reseller to do? :)

Wish list:
- Able to slice/dice my disk space between unix/windows platforms (Using WHM/Cpanel! nothing less :))
- Helpdesk systems provided for free
- Billing systems + own merchant account provided for free + $0 monthly fee + very low transaction fee
- Private label domain reseller
- Private label SSL reseller
- Customised web template & logo design
