Akash 09-09-2002, 05:52 PM READ THIS!!!!
I have to share my experience.
I purchased a 25K campaign in august. While my banner may not have been the best, I only got a 0.068 CTR.
So unless you have a catchy banner, i would not say that this is the best target market for a host. Normally, if the demographics of the ad group matched your target, you would get a CTR of at least twice that (which I did, with a similar banner)
edit: since my clarification is on the bottom of the page, and post people wont read it....
The advertiser is falsely representing his stats. He has knowingly done so and has made no attempt to fix it. He advertises 13,000 Pageviews per day. This is incorrect.
He has posted statistics from the ad management software that shows an average of less than 13,000 adviews.
While he is still selling by the impression, he is still falsely presenting statistics, which violates the basic ethics of business - you do not lie to your (potential) customers.
RandyL712 09-09-2002, 05:52 PM I think you're full of it. There are currently 7 members online. Only 679 members total, and just 84,976 total posts on the site! 13,000 views a day? my ass :)
Most users ever online was 69
Stop lying and scamming.
HostPr 09-09-2002, 05:56 PM Randy, I would like an apology. Attached is our stats as of 6:02pm EST. Please see them.
Akash 09-09-2002, 05:59 PM Randy doesn't have to apologize just yet...If there were only 6 advertisers, then yes there were about 13K adviews, but if I recall correctly, there are 2 banner ads per page. So that means there were 6500 page views...correct?
RandyL712 09-09-2002, 06:00 PM Further - the top 10 posters account for 40% of the posts on the site.
silock 09-09-2002, 06:01 PM are these clicks or views
HostPr 09-09-2002, 06:02 PM What i stated above was that 13,000 pageviews per day for the site. Never did it mention that it was for 1 banner alone. That was an assumption.
RandyL712 09-09-2002, 06:02 PM Dont' expect an apology - anyone can immediately see the numbers I posted.

They are views. If it were clicks, i'd be lying.
HostPr 09-09-2002, 06:04 PM What numbers? Everything I stated is factual and we have the stats to prove it. Nothing I did was to lie/scam anything. We have run promotions for this site before and they work. Please don't flame this if you don't like it.
Feel free to call us at 914-912-7992 if you have any questions or would like to talk to me.

RandyL712 09-09-2002, 06:08 PM The site is basically a forum, no? If you are getting 13,000 pageviews a day but only 200 some posts (site's been up about a year, right?) than this isn't a popular site. Perhaps the same 50 people sit on the site constantly, racking up pageviews. Well, that's not advantageous to an advertiser. They want UNIQUE visitors. And I suspect you have 50 visitors that click through about 200 pages per day each. That's worthless.
Akash 09-09-2002, 06:12 PM You said pageviews, your attachment shows ADViews
2 ads per page = 1/2 as many pageviews as adviews....
do your math
edit: come to think of it, i think it was advertised this way when i advertised.....i'd ask for my money back for the false representation of statistics...but i dont see any chance of that happening

HostPr 09-09-2002, 06:31 PM There will be no edit- the offer stands.
Akash 09-09-2002, 08:17 PM Then you should clarify...it's 13000 ad views per day, with 6500 pageviews....
RandyL712 09-10-2002, 11:26 AM What a joke. 50 'real' users.
