Unfortunately, my clients do not want to spend the money. The pix501 is still better than the linksys for what I need it to do. Unless you might know of something else that might be better?? Thanks John jimroe 09-12-2002, 08:50 PM The 501 does a nice job; you can also use a Cisco 806 router with the firewall feature set for a little more (I think the 806 might be a little faster). I use a 1605 with the firewall feature set and it works great. I like all the Cisco I have, but it's tricky to get it all setup the first time. I've never run across a forum for this equipment though, and when it comes to security and firewall rules, I suspect many may be a little reluctant to share what they do in a public forum, as I know that I personally feel that tends to make me more vulnerable. jayjay 09-13-2002, 01:59 AM Just a note here. I'm starting to think a *BSD box with ipfw would work for you. Get a pair of NICs that have an onboard cpu (usually an i960) as well. Intel makes some nice ones.
