Dear Fudevs,
If you have a legal paper for your company (TAX id and commercial license), many banks here in Egypt have started online payment processing. I was in contacting with guys @ bank misr & et3, since they were about to launch this service and now it's working. and the national bank is now also allow this solutions .
all you need is to have your legal papers and open a commercial account set up the API and go ;)
about bank misr, they were taken a fee of only 4% and the money will be in ur account the next day !! :D (welcome to Egypt)

Requirements are the same like any other bank in Egypt to open a commercial bank account and credit card merchant account (Tax ID, Commercial Register).
But Guys in AAIB will take long time to response to your request.
you need to call back many times to follow up :(
Any way I will try with bank misr although 4% transaction fees is very high. acceptable fees should not exceed 2.5%.

2co take $0.49 / transaction plus about 5.5 % of the payment ammount! + you will pay for wire transfer fees (about $20)
4% of bank misr is very very acceptable IMO.
What are the fees of AAIB by the way ?

ah by the way, I remembered that that 4% can be modified if you have high volume of payment.

do not compare with 2CO becuase it is not fair.
we used 2CO for long time, they share you profit just because we are in a country where online payment solution is nightmare.
days changes, so we hope online business grow up in Egypt.
AAIB guys said 2.5%.
I want you to try to call them on Sunday to make sure.

I totally got what you want to say,
I don't want here to compare the service. you know dealing with banks will be very complicated (specially with one owned by the government).
but in general 4% in the current time is very good. specially when you will have your money in your account the next day! and when I was in contact with them they were providing this service free of charge ! no setup fees at all (call them these days to check)
any way national bank also provide the same solution (elbank elahly elmasry) you can drop them a call as well to know the current fees.

Totally right (Y) 4% is too much expensive. is it any alternative way? i am sure there is an International Bank which can do it..

:S
again 4% is not that high belive me. banks build gatways for processing online payment, and do the work while - as we know - there is not much businesses in Egypt that use this service at the moment. so let's say 4% as a start is perfect. by 2009 I think all international banks that serving now will provide this service to their customers, then the competition will take the prices lower and lower ( it may be lower than 2.5% as well) :D

Credit card Transaction fees for IT industry between 1.5% - 2.2% all over the world. why you accept to pay more.
bank misr charge 2.0% for POS swap transaction, CIB charges 2.50% for POS swap transaction. I think adding 0.5% more will cover online risk for acquiring bank.

with setup fees OR monthly fees OR minimum volume ...:)

Bank Misr do it for sure as its the payment gateway for Vodafone and Etisalat, however its still very complex to do. Also, I remember CIB told me once a year ago they're preparing for it, not sure though if its ready or not yet.
I see 4% is not that high comparing to your ONLY choice currently, which is 2CO. You cannot compare with US merchant gateways, IMHO.

1- Merchant has to open a current account at any of Banque Misr’s Branches for each Currency (EGP and $ if Merchant is offering Service in $). Merchant has to avail the following legal Documents to open a current account by his Company Name:
§ (Commercial registration)
§ (Tax Card)
2- Subscribing in Banque Misr’s Card Center as a Merchant by signing VISA & Master Card Merchant Contracts
3- Signing Banque Misr’s Secure e-Payment Contract with the agreed upon Transaction fee depending on Merchant’s Business.
That's what was written in the proposal I have since 2006 (for visa & Master).
I will PM you with phones that was attached with that proposal
note for AMEX, you need to sign a contract with American Express ( I will send you contact details as well).
hope that helps :)

You more than welcome bro. :)
regarding you question, see I can't rate service of bank misr as I didn't try it as a merchant, but I used to pay my phone billing through their gateway at vodafone website. i see no problem at all.
I may suggest banque misr for you (even it may be a bit complicated) for many reasons..
1- it's a local solution :)
2- your money is 100% safe ( I got my money stolen before with some gateways :D )
3- rates are REALLY competitive !
4- your money is in your account 24 hour after the payment is done, no thresholds, no fees, no wire transfers, no checks.. no thing at all!
really it worth trying!
and at last, the decision is totally yours :)

I want to know another point here!
for 2CO and similar processors, you get the code > put it in your site and you did the job.
for bank misr you will develop your own payment script (it's very easy don't worry :D) they will provide you with all the data you need. i have this file if you are intersted I can send it to you :)
