Allows you to set up domain accounts wherein you can sell a bit of your space to your own customers.

Customer says to you "I need hosting", you say, do you have a domain, if not we can register one for you. You then set their account up. Your account with the reseller host allows you to create accounts for your customers. Usually you support your customers, and the reseller company supports you.

Billing is handled in the same fashion.

Company bills you, you bill your customers.

Generally there are three levels of server access.

Administrator - your vendor.
Reseller - what you are referring to.
Domain User - your customers

In the case of SAH (Suck Ass Host), you send us money, you never hear from us again.

Works out real great for our business model, when it's done, but hey, we opened the doors anyway!

You can, but I would consider a host that has a good community. HTTPme.com has a good one to start with.

The amount of questions, and work you must do to actually set up anything worthwhile will take a bit of time and diligence.

BTW I did :) lol You see what I was thinking that if we got a reseller package that we could host a couple of sites thast would pay for our hosting if we could not find a sponsor.. if that makes any sense your are talking with someone who really does not get this tech stuff easily :) ,Cameron

Ahhh Cameron from the contact media site? sorry, was busy with several different things and didnt realize I was talking with you here.

Yes, that is one definite possible way.

I would encourage you to consider it due to the amount of resources you require.

Is there much tech work involved in something like that ? fromn a makreting perspective it would be great as we copuld advertise having your site hosted by Contact Talk Radio.. but if it reqiures alot of tech I am not sure I can handle that as my knowledge in this area is very limited ..learning as I go along

Not really no, if the server is stable, fast and secure, you can handle it. You might need help now and again, it's exponential. At first you don't have much to do at all, then as you grow you eventually will need your own dedicated (And be able to afford it), but it's like opening a lemonade stand, you want to open it in the best possible location, and have your bases covered, if not, might as well be sour grapes as it won't yield anything.
