Not looking for a flame thread here but, is FDCservers having problems with their site, or is it just me???

I still have my account until the 10th to get my data off.

I have been disconnected twice today for over an hour each time.

Support won't even respond. But it sounds like they having alot of problems today. Glad I realized they were little league before I had anything important on them.

It sounds like their system is getting hit heavily by dos attacks.

Heh, serves them right.

i'll admit that something like this isn't unheard of at fdc... BUT... the guys there do their best n generally speaking they do a very good job... the majority of the problems they have are those out of their hands... such as DoS attacks and cogent network problems...

hmm, i didn't seem to have many problems yesterday at all, maybe it was a certain subnet. i was hoping with them splitting the shell / irc hosts to a seperate line that would help a bit with their DoS history.

i had a few weeks of straight 100% uptime, but, now i'm starting to get those little nagging 10 - 15 minute downtimes a few times a day.

anyone have an update on the yipes line?

it was slow cuz it was getting dos'ed with 900+Mb/s one of the servers on my irc network was the target.. the rackshack server also got hit and if you dont believe me then look at rackshacks mrtgs for last night around 11am est time all of them spiked and if you take the max - average it comes out to ~900Mb/s

we traced it back to the source .. the standard trojan'ed windows machines on a irc server.. 6200 of them some people have no life.. funny thing is there irc server is hosted by rackshack so basicly they were hitting themself heh

edit: 11pm not am

900Mbps? i wasn't aware fdc even had 900Mbps... heheMe neither. What they doing with all this bandwidth? They defenitly aren't using it for their dedicated hosting customers (unless you call an avarage maximum speed of 100 kb/s normal, sometimes dropping to 30 kb/s and this was measured on 3 FDC servers before the DOS attack).

900Mbps? i wasn't aware fdc even had 900Mbps... hehe

thats why it was slow? heh they dont have 900Mbps
they probably didnt get hit with 900 cuz they sorta droped all the servers at the same time so while rs was getting 900 they were getting at least 100 cuz the mrtg maxed at that but its probably alot more than that

heh... the problems of a software-based router... if it were a hardware router, latency would have gone up, not packet loss... heh...
