If you look through the Access Number list you'll notice they're listed by US State only, so my guess is no.

megapop.com reseller, pricing is better, most likely due to bulk though, I was going to go with megapop directly, but I will check this out.

Actually, Megapop is only one of the 4 networks we offer.. We offer Qwest and two other networks. Once you signup with us you can offer all of our networks or just one, same price.

Setup fee is only $100 for raw access.. No term commitment, oh and we actually take care of our customers which is MUCH more than I can say for most of our competitors.

We can have you setup within a few hours for raw access only. Other services and options take a bit longer.

Thanks..

Also, Megapop alone only offers about 1100 numbers and almost 500 of them are in California. By goign through us you get Qwest too which has over 2800 numbers spread all over the US. Great coverage so you get into the smaller cities etc..

What about user support? is that offered through you, or do we support our own users?

I used to work for an ISP, so I know how hellish dial-up support can be, especially when the people doing the support don't have access to the systems. How is all that handled?

I like your pricing, and I like the numbers.. but how come with the unlimited plan we don't have access to all of the numbers?? Is there a way to arrange that?

>>What about user support? is that offered through you, or do >>we support our own users?

We can do your support or you can do it yourself, it's your choice. If we do it we offer 8am-12 mid support for an additional $2.50 per user per month. You provide the 800 number. It's not the cheapest but it's good support. Of course this is only an option not a requirement. There is also a $99 setup fee for support.

>>especially when the people doing the support don't have >>access to the systems. How is all that handled?

The support guys have access to everything they need. As for you, we gie you a backend control panel where you can add, remove, supsend users. Change passwords and view usage on some of the networks. If you have trouble past that, this is what we are for. We take care of the headaches you just relay info from us to your end users. The services are really quite reliable so everything msotly just runs smooth and works..

No, sorry.. Once you are singed up with us you can sell on all of our networks but each network is independent and has it's own price and rules.

You will fidn that most don't use many hours anyhow so even the networks that are limited cans till be sold by you as unlimited. You just move the heavy users over tot he unlimited network or so other creative things on a oer user basis.. This way you can primarily use Network A which is cheaper for you and has more numbers overall..

Hope that helps.

You guys can call me anytime between 9am and 9pm with questions.. My direct line: 888-230-5333 x89 My name is Todd

Your prices are probably the best i've seen YourOwnISP.

Does anyone know of any other ISP reseller opportunities other than YourOwnISP and MegaPOP there worth looking at just for comparison and research purposes?

If you are looking for alternatives, you should search the web or post elsewhere.

This is StartAnISP's thread, it would be rude to post other competitor's names.

I've been looking at http://www.cari.net -- they offer $5 for regional dialup (in California and Nevada).

StartAnISP

California only access is always cheap.. The whole state is OVER soaked with POPs. It's also over soaked with ISP's etc.. Great option if all you want to do is sell in those two states. Most of our customers are looking for a Nationwide offering and that is what we deliver. We may actually offer California only access at some point at a lower price than the above link. But.. We have stayed away from that so far because one we already have extensive coverage in CA and two there is so much competition there it's tough to ever get any business wholesale or retail. There is usually a reason things are cheap. :D

What are the three networks that you provide?

Your pricing isn't much more than Cari.net for California dialup service ... they price it $5 per user, although there is a $50 dollar monthly fee every month. So if a startup ISP had 25 customers, the ISP would be paying $7 a month per user.

$5 + $2 ($50 / 25 users), so your deal isn't bad ... and I am definitely not complaining about your service. I'm considering signing up myself.

StartAnISP

Networks are A, B and C :D

OK, I get what you are asking..

Network A is Qwest 2932 numbers.

Network B is Port Source a little over 2000 numbers.

Network C is a combination of Megapop and Broadwing about 1700 numbers.

Hope this helps and Benjamin, we look for ward to you signing up

:)

Thanks to everyone on the boards here! We have had a very good turnout from WHT.

Good news all, we just dropped our pricing on Network B from $7.95 per user to $6.95 per user! This price gets even cheaper once you start putting on the customers. Have a look at the site and see the whole pricing table.

Do you know of any forum, info sites, etc. for Vitrual ISPs? I found other wholesale provider sites, and the isp-xyz lists, but I'm looking for more VISP oriented non-vendor specific information. Kind like WHT here, but for VISPs.

Hope this helps.

After asking you about it, I thought about it and decided it was a much needed resource... so I registered a couple of names - visptalk.com and the .net version, and loaded up Invision on it. DNS may not have made it's way through yet. Just registered yesterday after all.

Of course, you're welcome to come join it. Vendors are more than welcome. But I did decide that just to avoid any temptation wholesale suppliers cannot be moderators.

I would still like to come participate in your boards as well. The more information the better I think.

Thanks

Plenty of room for more than one board though..

Good luck.

In my area, there are several ISP's that are widely used. I hear complaints about each of them all of the time. They range from price per month to busy signals when they dial in.

What does the average reseller of this service chage for dial up access once they become an ISP?

Are these networks overcrowded and get a busy signal or just a really slow connection?

I am looking to target the quad state area of MD, WV, VA, and PA. Is there a network that will accomodate all of these areas?

Thanks for any info. I am definately interested.

There was a interesting article I read on ISP pricing, wish I could find it again for you. Seems there is a thought that there is a price-point where people don't trust the ISP anymore. The article suggest $17/month, but the article isn't current. I suspect that way of thinking does exist, but it may not be $17 anymore.

Most of the networks are national. Qwest has over 50 numbers in MD alone.

One thing to think about regarding busy signals. Earthlink just signed an agreement with Starnet (Megapop).

>>What does the average reseller of this service chage for dial up access once they become an ISP?

Hmm, the average? We have ISP's selling retail from about $13.00 to $19.95.

>>Are these networks overcrowded and get a busy signal or just a really slow connection?

Now I am not saying that it could never happen, but.. We have NEVER had a busy signal complaint from a wholesaler or an end user on any of the networks we offer. Slow? Not at all, our customers are usually overjoyed at the connections they get. Of course anyone with slow phone lines at there home will always get slow connections no matter what ISP they use.

Out networks are all national and we can cover the areas you need and a LOT more. Please see our POP List here:

Yup -- it just shows how strong your company is. Lots of companies come and go. But the very few stable companies stay.
