Yep, perldesk is a beautiful thing. That's assuming you would like that program to be FREE too. :D

Perldesk isn't a resource hog just because it is CGI. Unless you want to pay $100+ just get Perldesk for free and it will be excellent...

Since he requested a php script I thought he may be turned off by a CGI script so I explained why it was just as good as a php script in that aspect.

oops, you're right. I missed that small detail. Sorry!
Well, I wonder if there is any PHP script out there that's free and can even come close to the functionality of Perldesk.
It is a beautiful thing. I hear they have PleskDesk coming someday soon. Should be nice.

Unless you have thousands and thousands of customers opening trouble tickets everyday Perldesk barely uses any resources.. In the case that you did have all those customers I would think custom script would be best for you anyway..

I rate perldesk. Easy to install too. The price tag is a bit steep though. Er.. $0.

DeskPro (www.DeskPro.com) gets my vote, not cheap, but absolutely brilliant.

Perldesk is good but it has its own problems:
1) Attachments not supported
2) FAQ manger is not user-friendly at all.
3) Not using standard e-mail headers.
Well its free, we can't expect too much :)
Cheers
