We have had a central file server fail, apparently two drives are issuing amber alerts and are needing to be replaced. Right now I am working Rackspace to restore the server to original condition.

Darn we're back now :(
Now now, no need to lie Mat...just admit you forgot to feed the hamsters again and we'll be good :)

Oh he did, but while he attempted to give the babies their milk he spilled some over the server. :(

Well, let's just blame Mat, I mean we have to have someone to blame!

It was fixed quite quickly I would say.

I'm glad you would say that :D
I just checked our monitoring and we were down for a total of 39 minutes. That includes being notified of the issue, identifying the problem, rolling NFS up a secondary server with a recent backup and remounting the share on all of our web servers. Even with simultaneous drive failure, we kept on chugging with only a minor blip. :)

Did SoftWareRevue let the squirrels get loose again?

Dennis needs to add a rule to WHT: "Don't ever mention the vermin"
