Mr. Obvious 10-21-2008, 10:26 AM I require a skin, kthxbai The Prohacker 10-21-2008, 10:31 AM We have had a central file server fail, apparently two drives are issuing amber alerts and are needing to be replaced. Right now I am working Rackspace to restore the server to original condition. Mr. Obvious 10-21-2008, 10:31 AM Darn we're back now :( Now now, no need to lie Mat...just admit you forgot to feed the hamsters again and we'll be good :) Robert vd Boorn 10-21-2008, 12:03 PM Oh he did, but while he attempted to give the babies their milk he spilled some over the server. :( N|Kitmitto 10-21-2008, 12:07 PM Well, let's just blame Mat, I mean we have to have someone to blame! The Prohacker 10-21-2008, 05:36 PM It was fixed quite quickly I would say. I'm glad you would say that :D I just checked our monitoring and we were down for a total of 39 minutes. That includes being notified of the issue, identifying the problem, rolling NFS up a secondary server with a recent backup and remounting the share on all of our web servers. Even with simultaneous drive failure, we kept on chugging with only a minor blip. :) Dougy 10-21-2008, 08:44 PM Did SoftWareRevue let the squirrels get loose again? Mr. Obvious 10-21-2008, 09:57 PM Dennis needs to add a rule to WHT: "Don't ever mention the vermin" |
