View Full Version : Simple order processing script needed
Jack-PNH 09-08-2002, 06:57 PM Hey guys,
I'm looking for a simple script that would process orders. It should be included in my site (http://www.pronethosting.net (http://) ) so that when the customer clicks the order button, it should ask for name, email address, yearly or monthly payment, domain, etc... The script gets the plan as a parameter so it shouldn't ask for that. After that the customer should be redirected to 2CO and email me the collected info. That's all.
I can pay with credit card or offer you a reseller account.
IDNet 09-08-2002, 07:02 PM Hi there,
I would be very much interested in completing this project for you tonight if possible. I am on AIM just now if you wish to contact me so we can discuss further. AIM sign in: InciteDesigns
If you do not have AIM, please reply via pm, or below, regarding the following:
- The programming language you wish to be used
- More details concerning the reseller plan, usage length, space, bandwidth etc
Thank you for your time,
Mark Barron

The Laughing Cow 09-08-2002, 07:54 PM Hi Jack,
I have a lot of experience doing this. I could have this completed for you within a day or two. I created a step-by-step order system for my old hosting company using 2checkout as well as having done this for other hosts using other processors like authorize and worldpay.
I would be able to do this at a very competitive rate if you let me know how much you are looking to pay.
I can work in ASP or PHP depending on what your servers provide.
You can see a screenshot of the system I designed for horizon hosting here http://www.terryjacobs.co.uk/Graphics/Screenshots/horizonhosting.gif
If you wish contact me or I can contact you.

2host.com 09-08-2002, 08:01 PM I've already coded this exact thing in Perl. It allows for underlying calls to the remote SSL server from your own local certificate and the user will actually have no interaction with the CC company, won't see the fields passed to it, etc., unless you want them to. Everything works underneath and uses SSLeay, forms and does all the work without their knowledge.
You can use the regular way with the form if you like, it can be localized and you can just put it into the process to do confirmations without the client seeing URL's or post actions back to your site for confirmation and setups, as it's all done underneath as well. This makes it safer and more secure all around. If you're interested, email me. Thanks.
GWDGuy 09-08-2002, 10:14 PM We have already built this exact script.
this is how is work.
You habe an admin control panel to enter your plans and in the plan you enter the URL of where the user needs to go if they choose that plan. So basically how it work is the user comes to your site they choose the plan A and they click on the buy now link, it will ask all their information so you can have everything you need to set up their account as soon as they hit submit it takes them right to your shopping cart/E-comm page with the hosting selection they choose. Meanwhile the user information is logged into MySQL DB and you get an email that says someone signed up. No information is password through the email. You then log on and see the users information and if they paid you will sign them up. It comes with build in email templates for the "thank you" conformation when they first sign up letting them know that the order has been received and is being processed so thet know that you got their info. After you sign them up you can enter their user name and password and save it and it will send an email to them with whatever information you want like user name and password and CP location, basically whatever you want. We even have two separate ones for regular sign ups and for Frontpage enabaled users and the system know which one to send based on what they chose when the signed up. you can even add noted to the sign up if you want to add a little extra information... You even get a copy of the email info if you want in case you need to check it.. Also there is a built in Your Cancelled letter so if you cancel you can click a button it sends them the your cancelled letter and notes the account.
It has cut down out sign up time in half since we don't have to type out a welcome letter everytime and this way we can give them lots of information in the welcome letter so as more new people sign up and ask the same question over and over you can just add it to the welcome letter and save some support time.
this is custom programming nothing from like hotscripts or anything.. It works fast and efficent and we would be willing to even install it for you at no extra cost. If you are interested in it send us an email and I will send the url to our site and you can try it out..
We currently have 5 plans and each of those can accept monthly or yearly and also the same thing on paypal and when the user choses a plan they are automatically taken to the proper place so no guesswork or mistakes.
Oh yeah it also saves their IP address in case you want to do a back trace to make sure they are really who they say they are.. We have caught many Fraud cards and saved ourself a lot of headaches.
Let me know.
johnallen 09-09-2002, 01:52 PM What do you guys charge for these scripts?
LinuXpert 09-09-2002, 02:27 PM You guys may have to try our domain registration order form to see our script in action (http://www.networksdata.com/domain/regform.html). Try many times as you like but please indicate in our order form that you're trying or I will be confused. If interested let me know.
Jack-PNH 09-09-2002, 02:33 PM Thanks for the reply everybody! I've started to work on this script with someone.
Eric, your domain reg. form looks good. Is it cooperating with enom's API?
LinuXpert 09-09-2002, 02:47 PM Currently not because I don't need to register domain in real time. I want to verify the order first then register domain later. This script simply adds customer's info into database and email me. For Enom's API I would need to write another script to receive parameters from 2checkout and then use Enom scripts to send domain name and customer's info to their server.
The Laughing Cow 09-09-2002, 07:16 PM we charge for our scripts and programming because it takes us time and skills to complete.
why do companies charge for hosting?
why does your milkman charge you for delivering your milk?
