Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if any hosting companys would be willing to take me on and teach me how to update server software, install programs such as php and mysql on redhat and programs like cpanel and plesk, setup nameservers and all that great stuff. If anyone would be willing to do such a thing, i would be willing to work for you in this field managing servers and updating and so on after i have learned everything, to repay you for your teaching me. Thanks Alot, i know this is not an ordinary request.

Wait...

You want us to teach you how to update (so we know how to update), and then you will update and everything else we teach you?

Seems kind of pointless.

Any info you need is free here, and Cpanel/WHM info is not hard to figure out.
I hope a good hosting person takes you up on your offer - and sorry I can not, cause my hosting sites all suck and developing so slow :(

I want to learn how to update not teach someone, and in return i will do what i have learned to help you manage your servers to keep you free to handle other things inreturn for your teaching. or if you dont want me to but would still like to teach me i would be very very thankful.

No, it sounds to me like he wants to be taught how to do server maintenance, and would be willing to work for it. Kinda sounds like he is wanting to be an intern of sorts.

And what is the problem with learning if the guy wants to learn then why go and say it is pointless to teach someone.

Hmmmm I wish you luck in finding what u want man.

I didnt say it was pointless to learn, I said it was pointless to have someone update your server that is learning from you how to do it. That was my opinion and I am entitled to it, as I based it on what I understood from the post.

i dont think its pointless...its like you teach him to drive, then after he knows how to drive, he will drive you while you relax on the passenger seat.

Best thing to do is install RH locally on an old box, and learn that way. A production environment isn't the best place to "Learn the basics, or just starting"...
