Urchin5 Install: Segmentation Fault

Hi, I am recieving this error when trying to specify a port for the Urchin Webserver to run on:
./install.sh: line 877: 27702 Segmentation fault "$INSPECTOR" -P $portin
The specified port is not available.
Therefore the installation is not continuing past this point and I cannot install the sofware.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks

try updating sharutils, that sometimes resolves seg fault errors when installing urchin.
on RHEL.... up2date -i sharutils
Also, verify ownership of the installer

Hi sorry to run this off topic (sort of), but where did you buy Urchin?
Thank

I haven't bought urchin yet, but - I'm trialling it. I fixed the segfault error as the install script isn't fully compatible with CentOS, I removed the port checking part of the script.
To purchase Urchin, please contact one of the Authorised consultants

Why are you using urchin anyway? Google Analytics does the same thing. And all the work is done on their computers, not yours lol.

Analytics is based off of Urchin, but I'm not so sure that they do the exact same thing.
One benefit to using the software is to analyze log data from a long time period. For example, someone who might have years worth of traffic logs that they want to get a better overview of.
Another benefit is retaining ownership of the data as well as data privacy. No worries about another company having your data.

2 reasons:
1. Analytics does not work behind firewalls
2. Some people do not want all of their data going through google.

If you are having issues when specifying the port during installation, I would recommend installing with default port (9999) and then accessing the admin page after install and changing the port there
