View Full Version : AlphaRed refugees call
cresci 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM Hi there,
This is not an advertisement or offer. In fact, it is a request.
For those who are refugees from AlphaRed, we're looking into partners that want to split costs of colo and bandwidth in Miami (location can be discussed). Cogent is willng to match pricing only on 10GEs commit, so if we can sum 1G here, 3G there, 2G there, then we can pool to buy at their cheapest pricing. Hurricane Electric may be an option too.
Please IM or PM me stating your interests or for more details or questions.
Rusty500 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM iptelligent,
There have been a number of offers in the Dedicated Server Advertising forums to provide similar pricing or match/beat AlphaRed's pricing on lower commits. If you search for "alphared" you should see these offers.
It may help you in your search for additional bandwidth.
Good luck!
cresci 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM Yes, but this post is for those, like us, that want to have a more stable solution than having to hop between every dedicated provider until they sink out.
For those like us who decided to go with their own gear and boxes and just want to pool in to split the costs of the cage and taking the opportunity to buy bandwidht in bulk at the cheaper pricing, as some may have not the full capital to invest in everything or don't want to deal with some of these aspects.
Very different than selling dedicateds or colo for profit.
VideoPR 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM What pricing were you able to get on the 10GE commit?
cresci 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM Cogent $4/meg, HE $4.5/meg
Webdude 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM We've been considering getting Cogent to our location for extreme bandwidth operations. It's either a 1 gig commit and wait a while for them to come put the pop at our location, or light up some dark fiber down to a on-net location. We had one place pass an idea to us where they get cogent in, and we have access to the fiber and trade them off with some free racks. I dont think they will be able to do it though.

chennaihomie 01-01-1970, 12:00 AM A redundant multi-homed you can get at $5.5/meg if you go for 10GE commit, then why you go for single provider?
