After a month ago I registered a domain with register.com, a year period was $ 14. Now I go to there and try to register another domain and I saw they same with netsol. a year period is $ 35. What's going on with them? They must be sick.

They've always been 35, I still have a few domains with them, and yep 35 bucks a year.

What's "Sick" about it???

From what date are you stating "They've been", I've used their services since 1998 and they've always charged 35 dollars a year for .com.net and .org's.

Why are you paying $35 / year when you can transfer / register / renew your domain for less then $10?

Who are you talking to?

If you initiate a transfer away from register.com, they will send you a renewal offer for $14.

If you catch a "Special" at register.com, they also seem to have $14 new registrations on occasion.

We had a customer initiate 10 domain transfers from them to us, then immediately cancel the transfers when he was offered the $14 renewal with register.com. In 50 days he was back, transferring all 10 of the original domains, and registering 20 more. He told us he felt "tricked" when he went back to register new domains at this new $14 price, and found the "old" price had reterned.

This particular customer has since registered and transferred nearly his entire portfolio from register.com and Verisign to us. If you follow the SOTD report, you'll see that register.com is second only to Verisign at the rate they are losing registrations. I suspect it's these "trick" prices (both of these guys do it) that cause some customers to jump ship.

Wana pay 5 times the price for 1/2 the services? Go with register.com or netsol.

You speak the truth, and I totally agree.

Get another registrar, register.com let me down recently when they shouldn't have (All phone calls were made, tickets were responded to and finished), and they still screwed up the needed timely change.

On another note, had 3 different accounts with godaddy (many domains), and with one phone call they were all joined up, all information was verified WHILE ON THE PHONE with them. BIg difference, 30 percent the cost.
